Sassy had the brown slimy discharge about 4 hours before she had her first kitten. All cats are different so just know that she could have her kittens at anytime now. Just keep checking on her. Sassy started breathing fast with her contractions when it was close to delivery time, and she started panting when it was time to start pushing.

It can vary one woman on here waited nearly a day! Tigger didn't show it! Usually it's about 4-6 hours so ice been told! Don't worry though you'll definately know when's she ready to push. She might well be having contractions, you just can't always see. What is she doing now?

I couldn't see her having contractions until it was time for her to push. I couldn't even feel any until it was time. You can rest your hand on her belly for a while and see if you can feel any. I had a pregnant cat 4 years ago that I could feel the mild contractions for about 7 hours before I could see them.i didn't see hers until it was time to push.

It sounds like she is in labor, just not at the delivery stage. If you are confident that the dog will not hurt the kittens then let her be with it. There is no reason to seperate them unless she doesn't want the dog around her or the kittens

Sassy was fine with my daughter's bulldog watching her deliver the kittens but when ge sniffed them she came unglued. She was also fine with the other cats being there but she gets very defensive if they get anywhere near her kittens.

If you don't think the dog will cause a problem let it be near her but not in with her for... Best be safe than sorry!
