Hi

I have read many articles on this and still unsure as they go one about the gestation period etc which i know about now. I am unsure when she actually conceived so very unsure when she is due to give birth, i am very happy about her having kittens and they are very welcome. I am only asking this question on when she is due so i can be there for her.

I know the signs of labour so i know what to look out for, just want to know where she is at roughly so i know when a bouts to expect her to go into labour. I have everything set up for her although doesn't not go into the kittening box at all, she lays on the floor all the time, but if she is comfortable to do then i will leave her, although i have tried to get her into the box but doesn't stay there very long before she comes out and flops on the floor.

At the moment i have noticed the hair around her nipples have been thinned so they are noticeable when she lies on her side. I haven't notice no milk from her nipples although she does have what i think is dried skin around her nipples and on the top of them, could this be milk?

She does wash herself but noticed lately is has just been her belly and back end region and her back paws. She is always asleep apart from when she uses the tray and eats. She doesn't like anyone touching her and just gets up and moves away, which kind of upsets me a little, i know i am silly.

I have noticed the kittens moving around very actively over the past 3 weeks now, i have not noticed any contractions, meows, and like i mentioned before not be close to me :(

I have kept her in now for the past couple of weeks to keep her safe, she as always been an outdoor cat although she is not bothered about staying in. I really hope someone can give me a rough estimate on how far she is and as to go.

Thank you all for reading and any replies you give me.

Lisa

If you have been able to feel the kittens moving for 3 weeks, she is VERY close.  Normally, you cannot feel kittens moving until mom is at least 6 weeks along, and cat pregnancy only lasts around 9 weeks. I'd be looking for the kittens at any moment!

Thank you so much, she is still eating and drinking loads, and sleeping more than being awake, I cannot wait, been on tender hooks for the past weeks or so.

She is not nesting yet either so i thought she was not due for another week or so.

I agree that she could be going into labour any time :D

I just wanted to add as you say she is normally an outside cat. That female cats can come back into heat and get pregnant again in as little as two weeks after giving birth. You don't want her getting pregnant again so soon after giving birth as it's very hard on their bodies and doesn't do them any good. I wouldn't let her out again until she been spayed ;)

Is it normal for her to not want me around, because for the past couple of weeks everytime i go to stroke her she gets up and moves away :(

Yes.  Cats acting more distant or more affectionate during pregnancy, especially late pregnancy, are both normal. She should get back to herself after the babies are born.

Hi Lesley

Yes i have been on the internet and looking at images and videos on the signs of the cat pregnancy to get some kind of stage that my baby girl at, but not getting anywhere. I know what to expect and know the signs of labour so I will be ok and will know when she needs me etc.

I do feel very bad into not knowing her due date though. And that is why i am unsure when she is likely to give birth, she is still eating although slowed down a bit today, not discharge yet, and has let me stroke a little more today so hopefully a couple of days or so she will have her little babies.

Really excited

Update on Kerris

She has not had her babies yet, so after last night of being affectionate nothing really happened. Woke up this morning expecting little fur babies and there was nothing. Kerris is still eating loads this morning, although when i woke this morning she was still affectionate but that could be because she wanted her breakfast. Will see how she goes today. Will keep you all posted.
