I changed email with an animal communicator and had a reading done on all my three cats. I decided to do this because Harley cries almost every night since August or September 2013 and I have tried everything I know to change this behavior. He even took some calming pills the vet prescribed for a short period of time and it didn't help. So I thought that if I am going to do this for Harley, why not for all of them - might find out something new.

I can not provide a definite opinion as I do not know what I believe. Or don't believe. I mean in general, not only about animal communicating. However, it was an interesting and funny experience.

Sophie sees me as her 'girlfriend'. Well, she's my soul mate, the joy of my life, she brightens my days and I am her girlfriend. Nice. Brat.

She appears to have an inflammation in her lower bowel/ GI tract. That seems to fit, as she had fresh blood on her stool for weeks until I started her on slippery elm bark (I have three different threads that discuss Sophie's health issues). The AC said that this is why she has little interest in food. She recommended chloroxygen for her, a grain free diet and lots of water, as she is dehydrated. Sophie is off kibbles for a month already, but she still has some rice in some of the wet foods she eats. And about the dehydration...
I don't know. I always add water to her food, two soup spoons with every meal...

Harley cries at night since August/September. Took him to the vet, had bloodwork done, all is fine. The AC says it is not physically or behaviorally, he just, well.. sees things. "They are here, can't you see them?" Creepy. However, the AC says it is good energy. Harley also feels he has an empty stomach all the time, and the AC said he might have parasites. I have dewormed him two months ago with milbemax, so I don't know..

And Amelie... well, she is on survival mode. I knew that, she is semi-feral still. The AC gave some interesting advice on how to bond better with Amelie. And she told me Amelie likes fish

I do believe people have gifts that cannot be explained logically, scientifically.
I've used an animal communicator twice now, and found both experiences/insights helpful. The AC was very accurate in my opinion. In the most recent communication, the AC said she thought Ritz was 'sensitive' to certain proteins (I fed raw). Based on some experimentation, I do believe this to be at partially true and could be a component in, among other things, Ritz' FHS (twitching/rolling skin disorder). I am weaning her off of some proteins (pork and turkey mainly).
Upon the recommendation by the AC and people on these forums, I also followed up with a homeopathic vet soon thereafter. I am cautiously optimistic. (The homeopathic vet does telephone consulations.) A homeopathic vet is not the same thing as a holistic vet, although they could be both and both are complementary.

I've always been interested in how animal communicators work -- specifically, how can you tell if someone's just cold reading you or if they really have the gift. Would be funny to completely make up a cat that isn't your cat and see if they can tell that you're not talking about your own cat.

I guess you could put all sort of tricky question but in the end, I think it's only a matter of faith (or believing or trust, don't know which word is more appropriate).

I asked the AC to ask Sophie which of the vets she prefers - we have 4 vets we regularly go to. She said she senses a female energy but Sophie has seen a female vet only twice in her life, and that was more than a year ago. I doubt that Sophie would remember that. However, when asked what Sophie thinks of Harley and Amelie, Sophie's reply was something like "I am better than them". I don't know if it is a coincidence or if I let any detail slip, but I am sure that Sophie really thinks she is better than them - like they are dirty peasants and she is a flower.

My bf thinks that any person with psychology training and good attention to details could "do" animal communicating. I don't know. For me it was fun to have a stranger put in words what my cats probably think.

In my case, the AC only wanted to know my cat's name and a picture of Ritz, no other information--where I lived, etc.
She knew that Ritz' favorite activity in the whole wide world is to look outside and see the birds; the AC knew the birds were 'pigeon' like (actually, they are mourning doves).
