Hello, just joined

Hi everyone, I just joined the forum. I was a member of a couple of Australian cat forums a couple of years ago, and I have been back on there recently and they're pretty much deserted, so searched for a busy forum and found this site.
Anyway, I'm Lisa, I live in Australia and we finally get to pick up our Ragdoll kitten in two days! I'm so excited, but a bit nervous, too.
My last cat sadly passed away a couple of months ago due to post-op complications, he was only four and it ripped our hearts out (I have three kids). It was like losing a child, I loved him that much. So about three days later the kids were asking for another cat (part of their grieving process). I was in no way ready to get a new cat yet, but the kids needed to fill that void. So I reserved a ragdoll kitten, and the breeder sent photos and videos which I showed to the kids, so they had something to help mend their hearts.
So the time has finally come, we'll soon be picking up Delilah. This week has been spent getting all the bits and pieces we need, and kitten proofing the house, and getting her "safe" room ready.
Looking forward to getting to know everyone on here.

I know what you mean about the Aussie sites.. not a lot happening.  You'll really like it here I think. I certainly do!

Really looking forward to some Delilah pictures.  When do you get her?

EVERYBODY here is picture 'hungry' LOL! Welcome to the Site and here's to many, many, happy healthy years with your Delilah. I'm also so very sorry on the passing of your other baby, it takes a long time to heal a broken heart. It does help to have a new kitten around though, if for nothing else to take your mind off of it. Good luck in the future, and once again: POST PICTURES PLEASE!

Thanks for the warm welcomes. We pick her up tomorrow (Saturday). I do have some photos the breeder sent me, but I can't upload via my iPad. I will wait till tomorrow, I think, as I'm sure to take a million photos of her lol. I'm sure I had more photos of my last cat than I do of my own children. At least cats will sit still for a photo.
