My husband and I rescued Abella from the beach in Florida. Poor baby was 3 weeks old with burnt bottom lip & broken jaw. After medicine, vet visit after visit and tons of love, she is almost a year old and doing great. Within the last 6 months we took a job on the road for a week at a time. My niece stays with us and takes care of our babies. ( 2 cats and mouse) We had an appointment to get Abella fixed after we would return from a job. Unf ortunately this job lasted 2 months. We live in the Midwest and while gone Abella escaped for 2 weeks in the cold winter storms. We truly thought she froze. After the snow melted she came running home. Now she is pregnant! It is 54 days from the 1st night she escaped. She is picture perfect for a feline pregnancy! Large pink nipple, full belly on sides and recently low, Kittensare very active and have started to move lower in belly, noticed by watching their movement obsessively. She is nesting, eating little but frequently, keeping to herself, except at night when she is very affectionate. This is where I am lost. Last night I noticed something hard sticking out of her vaginal area. Got a baby wipe and wiped her. Sorry but it reminded me of a large booger.. Firm but when I wiped on the other side of it was gooey and a light yellow greenish color. Not slimy... But like a booger from your nose the size of a Pebble.. Please if someone can help me withwhat this could be would be great. Vet can't see her for a couple days. I have ocd and it'sdriving me nuts. I'm so worried and lost, any other opinions or advice would be great too! Sorry so long..

Impossible to know just on a description.  My guess is, she aborted a mis-shaped foetus.  Hopefully she will deliver the other normally shaped and alive when their normal time comes.

Does she seems healthy otherwise? No other alarming signs?  Raised temperature for example?

If you dont want bother her with measuring temperature in the behind, you can take it in her armpit.

Its a little lover there, about 3 degrees Fahrenheit lower, but you can still get a decent picture.

Good luck!

Ps. yOu do have mices too.  Are mices in cages, or are they cats friendly coexisting with thse your home mices?

Sounds to me like she is fixing to have her kittens but that is too soon after she got out. I have not had a pregnant cat in years. I did find this though;

http://pets.webmd.com/cats/cat-pregnancy-gestation?page=1

"Gestation  is the period from conception to birth. From the first day of a successful mating, it averages 65 days. Kittens born from day 63 to day 69 fall within the normal range. Siamese cats  may carry their kittens 71 days. However, if the kittens are born before day 60, they usually will be too immature  to survive."

It is early and maybe a lot of people are sleeping, but I would call your vet in the morning and ask them for sure or check out things on line.

That webmd is a great site for pets and people.

Best of luck with this, Please let us all know what happens.

She is so healthy... We can tell she will be a good mom... I have been watching the babies in her belly fora little over a week now... So far I believe there are 4...you can see them kick and roll over... It's crazy to watch but put a big smile on my face... This thing I wipes from her couldn't of been any bigger then the tip of my pinky finger. So confused at first thought was mucus plug but it's to soon... Yes I have a mouse as a pet... He's I a cage but my cats don't bother him...and he just plays in his wheel and doesn'tcare about them. We just got him a few months ago aafter our last mouse passed. He was 4 years old and Abella ( pregnant kitty) loved him. She would go to his cage every night and lay there all night. The mouse would come to her and sniff her. When gee passed away Abella just cried all night untill I woke up and found him. Then you could tell she was sad. Now she's this soon to be momma and I'm so frightened for her. She's so little and it's her first litter, but her babies they are going good to be a handful... So active... No matter where. I watch her belly there always moving.... Like there showing off... Lol.... Thanks for advice, I appreciate anything anyone can give, helps my nerves..

She sure is a cute kitty for sure. I agree that I thought it was a mucus plug also, but it is way too soon.

Call your vet when they open and ask them what they think  for sure.

Best of luck, please keep us posted.

Thank you so much, I have an appointment in a few days... She is doing well, no discharge, she doesn't seem uncomfortable, just her good ol' pregnant self... It's just confusing... I can't find anything about this... I'll call my vet and see if they can give me an answer before she goes... the funny thing is one day she will seem to appear like she's going to have the babies and then the next day she'll just sleep... I know it's to soon... But she has me on my toes....

So Abella is due anyday now... At 11pm she climbed on my chest and just couldn'tget enough of me. I wiped my hand under her tail and I wiped away some gooey like booger thing...it was small but nasty.. So put her in her box and she stayed there for an hour nesting and cleaning... Then she decided to climb back on me at the couch and all she wanted was loved on.... Her breathing rate seemed fast and she let me rub her belly for the last half hour... Does anyone else agree with me... This is stage 1?if so how long could this last before stage 2???

She does sound close, but honestly, it is not possible to give an accurate estimate of how long until she begins pushing.  If you believe she has lost her mucus plug though, it will likely be less than 24 hours. If her breathing rate is quite faster than normal, though, she might be in active labor and begin to push very soon.

Good luck.  Please keep us updated!

Ok. ... So I'm pretty sure she is passing her mucus plug... What should i expect now.... Do I stay up and keep an eye on her... She's actually acting normal besides being overly lovable and craving attention... For weeks now all I have been doing is research and watching videos... Now that it's getting close my mind is drawing a blank.. Lol...

Whether to stay up is a hard question.  While it's definitely best if you can be present for the birth, like I said above, there is no guarantee the birth will happen in the next few minutes/hours unfortunately.

What I personally would probably do is go to bed but set an alarm for around 2 hours from now and check on her then.  If all is still calm, set an alarm for 2 hours from that and so on.

Yeah sometimes I feel she's playing with me... Lol... But I read something about cats delaying labor if other animals are near. I have a dog and another cat. My other cat is worried for her.. She follows her everywhere and cleans her... Then my dog is just excited like she knows babies are coming. If Abella starts showing the labor symptoms again tonight Ithink iI'm going to put her in her nursery and just shut the door. This way she gets no disturbances except me checking out her... Good luck to you and keep updating..

Thank you good luck to you and your girl! I have 2 other cats but she has been around them since she was 6 weeks old and loves them! I am hoping tonight she has been acting a little off today and I swear when I picked her up he nipples felt a little wet so maybe just maybe! Make sure we see pictures of your cute kittens when they arrive!

I will definitely post pics... Kitten dust your way and fingers crossed.. My Abella has been around my dog and other cat since we for dinner her at 3 weeks old. My dog (pitbull) actually mommies her and protected her as a babies... But Abella doesn't like to be bothered by either one of them right now... I just try to do everything to make this the experience as call. In and easy for her as possible...
