The easter candy I absolutely hate are Peeps. Bleech. They are so wrong. Overly sweet, covered in gritty sugar, and the texture is downright peculiar.
A BIG yuck to those too! :lol3: My husband also loves them, but the have to be stale. :dk:

They're not my favorites.

I did try and eat some other brand of creme egg today. Someone at work left it out for grabs. They were marketed as an upscale product, about the size and look of quail eggs. But the package said "licourice." Licorice? Hmmmm. Maybe it's an acquired taste thing? OK, a lot of times people leave stuff up for grabs because they don't like it and don't want it to go to waste. One bite and I could tell these were in that category. Weeeiiirrrrd. I threw the rest away.
A licorice cream egg sounds worse than a regular one. :cringe:

I like Peeps, too, but I HAVE to brush my teeth afterwards. I can just feel the sugar eating away at my enamel when I eat those. I like them the best when they're starting to get a little stale and they get chewy.

I think I'm one of those in the middle! :D I don't love them and I don't hate them. Every time I have one I think "meh, not very high-quality chocolate, and I would prefer if the center were more like a Lindt truffle" but I'll still eat them anyway :lol3:.

For some reason I like hollow chocolate shapes. Hollow chocolate tastes different than solid chocolate. . .

So they're sort of like Christmas stockings.
Do you all do the tooth fairy thing too?
Once my dad didn't have a.sixpenny piece so he left six pennies under my pillow. I don't know about your pennies but British ones are big copper coins.

I don't like Peeps, nor any marshmallow candy that's not melted (so s'mores are OK). I remember when I was a kid and didn't know that I didn't like unmelted marshmallow. I begged for one of those pink snowballs from Dolly Madison. Begged, begged, begged, drove Mom nuts until I got one. Then took one bite and didn't finish it.

I used to like them but can't really eat chocolate anymore. Love white choco, but so hard to find GF... -Why? Peeps are another thing though, GF and instant sugar high! Love peeps.... they seem to put them out for every holiday now.

I drove to 3 places looking for Cadbury creme eggs.  None to be found.  I had to settle on a Zero candy bar.

I laughed and thought of this thread this morning!  A neighbor has this on her mailbox and I thought of the eating bunny ears first comments.

Those are cute baskets! I really like them. And that duck is adorable.

Rick's parents always gave us something for Easter. Our son and I always got a gift certificate to a local bookstore and that suited us just fine. To this day, he still loves perusing the store, looking for something. They usually just gave Rick $20 or so.

I do like Peeps, but they need to be opened and dried out before eating them. Otherwise, they're too sweet for me. A good week in the air will do it. But I know people who will keep them out for a month or longer before eating them. I never thought about toasting Peeps.

We will do the tooth fairy for Aimee. I figure we will give her $5 per tooth. On the topic of pennies, we don't use pennies in Canada anymore. You can still pay with them but nobody gives them as change anymore.

I really do not like Peeps. I have never been able to eat them, just the thought of them grosses me out.

Ha! That brought back memories. l used to get a tanner for teeth as well.

lt's great at the gas station if you accidentally go over (as l do all the time). You used to have to fish around in the car for a loose penny or two, now they have to round down.

Cadbury Creme Eggs are delicious!! l try my best not to buy them but l always end up finding them in the grocery bag once l get home
lt's best to get them when they first hit the stores in January. By the time Easter rolls around the centres are hard and not creamy smooth sugary delicious.

And is it just me or have the gotten way smaller?

I'm talking about pennies when they were still legal tender 60 odd years ago. Great Big copper things. It was the sort thing my dad would do!

A tanner a tooth. Iike that. My kids didn't sleep with pillows when they were young, In fact my DiL got him to use one after they'd been married for some time. Any case I put their money into their shoes.
Everything's got smaller. And Cadbury's not cadbury any more :'(

It doesn't get much better than them.  It's too bad they're seasonal.  They should sell them always.  Why not square eggs for the rest of the year?
