My lost Kitty Boy!

Our adopted feral cat that we've had for 3 years was accidentally let out of house while we were away. He has been missing for 5 weeks. We have checked the shelter every 3 days, responed to every possible sighting, set out food, trapped only raccoons and possums, posted flyers, hung neon posters, sat quietly for hours where people may have seen him. We are starting to feel hopeless. What are the chances he'll come home, if he is still alive. I doubt anyone was able to take him in. It took several months to establish our trust bond with him.

I am so very sorry your cat is missing, but please do not give up hope. I neutered one of my feral toms last May and he was missing for 10 months.  Is your boy neutered?  I delivered fliers door to door or put them in mailboxes.  I had many sightings, but he decided to just move on.  He may have found a food source that is keeping him from not being hungry and not coming home.  You might try expanding your search a bit farther too.  I know how heart wrenching it is to have him missing.  You will be in my thoughts.
