Sasha, who is 11 and 21 lbs, has been exhibiting some very weird eating behavior this past year. He will drag in a mouse through the cat door that he has caught in the night, and brings it to the bedroom. He then bites the head off, eats the head, and leaves the body. Somtimes he takes the heart. Sometimes he doesn't bring them upstairs, I just wake up and find headless mice all through the house. He is an introverted kitty --big, quiet, and shy, but happy. Has anyone ever seen this? The vet said it was a strange quirk, nothing to be alarmed over since he's had the run of the outside his entire life and is in excellent shape and health. Aside from a little ghoulish, are any other kitties having a penchant for mouse heads?

mine do most of the time. It is a bit gross, but I just try and dispose of the rest of the mouse as quick as possible. My take on this is that mice bite, and it ticks my cats off to be attacked, so they bite off what attacks them.

Not mine - then again i don't let them out unless in a carrier or on leash - though Kuce cornered a mouse under the doorjam. Luckily I had a container I put the mouse in and let it loose in a nearby field.
