I adopted new kitten. I brought Cleo to vet 2 days later and was told she had a eye infection and respitory. She's on an antibiotic 2 x a day. But it's been 5 days and still sneezing I don't see any discharged. Eating just fine. Should I make another visit or just a worry wart

It is important to be very watchful of any new kitten who is having a URI. So don't worry about being a worry wart!! ;) It can take up to two weeks and until you are finished with the antibiotic to see improvement. Plus - IF it is a viral infection then the antibiotic is there to protect against a secondary bacterial infection. It should run it course. As long as your kitten is eating, playing, drinking, and using the litter box then just keep watch on those symptoms. I think you will know if your kitten needs to go to be rechecked as you sound like a good new kitty momma. :bigthumb: :vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes: for your kitten!!

Sometimes, the sneezing is the final thing to clear up with these infections. Continue with the meds and if you notice any change in behavior (hiding, not playing), extremely lethargic, change in eating habits, then get her back to the vet immediately.  Otherwise, you just gotta let the virus run its course and let the antibiotics do their thing, which can take up to 21 days.  If she's still sneezing upon the completion of the meds, then call the vet's office and see what they recommend.

I have a question about my new kitten cleo,  I had two cats previously for 15 years, I saw at birth.  So I knew how old my girls where when I brought them home.  I suspect cleo is younger than I was told.

I never had the scratching all over me, with my two girls, but this little girl,  I'm scratched everywhere.  Is this just a phase.  I play with her, I have scratching post , several.  she gets lots of attention, but while ii'm sleeping or sitting all of a sudden she is all over me

 any suggestions

It is very possible that she was removed from momma and siblings too young, so she did not learn her manners. Unfortunately, that means that you will have to teach her. It will take patience and consistency on your part. Here's an article that explains some of the methods.

You could also start to trim her nail tips off! Good to start this grooming process as a kitten to get them used to it. If you don't know how to trim a cat's nails, then ask your vet to show you next time Cleo goes in for a visit. It is really common to get a few scratches when raising a kitten !!!
