At this time we are currently feeding a 100% dry food diet. After doing some research I have found that this isn't the best option. We just recently added cat #3 to our house. I won't lie my husband and I are newly weds and first time home owners so money is never very plentiful so affordability is the key. We want our cats to be healthy but we just can't afford an all wet diet and honestly even 50/50 puts a pretty big strain on the budget. What are some options available to us/how little wet can we offer without neglecting our fur-babies health?

I would try to do at least 50/50 if you can. Some affordable options are Friskies pates (the larger 13 oz can makes it even more affordable per ounce), Fancy Feast classic pates, Authority (Petsmart? brand).

If we use the 13 oz can would that be enough divided between the three of them for one day if we also offered dry or would we need two a day?

Apparently the rule is give kittens as much as they want to eat.

Start with your 1 can of Friskies wet, separate the cats if you have to, in case one likes to steal food.

You'll likely need to open another can, since one can is only ~ 4.3 ounces each and likely not enough.

Friskies is quite inexpensive for a 13 ounce can but it's your call if you can afford 2 per day.   If you have to supplement with dry food then that's what you'll have to do.  Just leave out plenty of water and/or consider a pet fountain down the road.

Whereas adults it's generally ~ 200 calories per day, for the average 10 pound cat.  This is approximately one 5.5 - 6 oz. can of wet food per day.

Some brands have the calories indicated on the label, others don't but you can research them on the internet and usually get an answer.
