Both my professors canceled classes today because a lot of us commute. Secret Service is semi-closing most of the roads downtown because the president is visiting this afternoon.

Thought of taking kitty out for a walk. Maybe a miracle will happen today. But nope, he's hiding under the bed now because apparently I am an evil monster with a harness.

He doesn't know what he's missing!
It must be nice having an unexpected day off, especially when the weather is good.

Oh I love an unexpected day off!  Granted I'm home all the time and never fully "off" like my BC days; but when DH is off it's great!  We might go for walks on some local trails or we might just run errands; but either way it's nice to have that change of pace when you aren't expecting it.  DH is such a "project person" he doesn't sit still too much on the weekends.

I need a day off so I can paint or something.  I feel too guilty to get into something time consuming like that most days when there is always something else needing cleaning!!

It's so odd because I can drape my shirt or blanket over him now (huge progress from, say, November) and he wouldn't mind. I mean, he gives me that "WHAT ARE YOU DOING" look, but usually lets me. He reluctantly lets me brush him after a bit of fuss (again, huge progress) and clip his nails (still amazed he lets me do it now, albeit very slowly still).

I feel like stuffs I put near his food bowl is now considered scary. Both his carrier and harness are near his food bowl 24/7.
