Peaches came home after 6 days. She was locked in our garage the whole time, but we did find her. Check garages, drains, roofs, trees, etc...Coco was on top of the house when we found her. Just keep looking and do check your old house.
Good luck finding Yogi!!!

ashton was MIA for weeks and he came home again. Snowwhite would disappear too when she was outside. Our dog nanook ran away for a week. I sure hope he comes back! It does happen though. Sometimes cats show up monthes later.

I hope your cat comes back. I don't know what I would do if one of mine was lost. That's why they are inside only. But of course they could always escape. I also hope Yogi isn't a breeder and isn't out proliferating his genes!

Sam,

I'm sorry to hear about Yogi. I'm a volunteer pet detective (after losing and then finding my own indoor-only kitty) and in my experience the highest percentage of indoor/outdoor cats that go missing do so following a house move. Kitties are very territorial and to change the territory is difficult for them.

A few questions: How long has Yogi been at the new house? Did you keep him indoors for awhile before letting him out at new house? Have there been any other major changes in your house (new cats, new people, etc)? Has Yogi shown any signs of illness lately (inappropriate peeing, weight changes, etc)? What sort of personality is Yogi— is he a fairly calm cat or is he more timid and startles easily?

Click on the website in my sig. The majority of the tips are for indoor-only, but you can get general info that might be of some help in finding Yogi. Make sure you have a clear photo and large lettering on your Lost Cat flyers. There are also links to support boards whose interest is helping finding lost cats that may give you additional leads.

Sending good thoughts that Yogi comes back soon!

OMG! Thank you everyone for your vibes!
I'm going to ask mum to put an ad in the paper today.

Tammie- Yogi is our desexed show kitty

Maui, We have been at the new house for about two weeks. He was inside for about 4 days before we let him out, we also let Looonie & Elmo out at the same time they both came back. No new pets. Yogi hasn't been sick. Yogi is the most fearless "go getter" of a kitty. He loves people to death and always fights with the local cats, at the last two places we have lived at, he seems to be alpha cat.

Mum & I can't thank you enough for all the vibes!

Sam.

Has Yogi ever gone missing at any previous homes? Has Yogi ever moved homes previously and transitioned into new home ok before? Does he have collar and tags with new phone number and new address? Has he ever not come home because of cat fight injuries?

Based on his personality and circumstances, he has the highest chance of either:

1) looking for old territory; or

2) befriending another human (because he is so friendly and an expensive pedigreed cat) and then getting "rescued" or stolen by someone else; or

3) has gotten injured as a result of a cat fight because of his past history of getting in territorial scraps with other kitties.

There is also the possibility that he has gotten trapped inadvertantly but because of the coincidence of moving into a new turf so recently, I think situations related to new turf as the 3 above are higher probabilities.

Sam, you will want to flyer the heck out of your area (and flyer your old neighborhood), talk to ALL your neighbors and ask if "they know of anyone who has gotten a new fluffy orange cat" in case someone has stolen poor Yogi. The direction you should head in in your search is both 1) the direction that your old house is and 2) the direction that you see Yogi's kitty mates heading off in when they explore. Watch your kitties to see if they can give you any clues.

Thanks.

Yeah Yogi was missing once for about six days. He always seems to fit in with the new house okay. No he has never came home with cat fight injuries, he has never had any. He has no tags as he refuses to wear a collar.

Oh, Sam ! This is just awful ! Sending "get your furry red butt home" vibes to Yogi.
My kitties don't dissappear for some reason (too lazy I think), but all of my DOGS tend to run away and not come home! Go figure.

Because Yogi went missing previously, it's VERY possible he went visiting this time as well and will be home soon. And because he doesn't come home with injuries and has adjusted to new homes before, then the only other high possibility would be theft.

If Yogi doesn't come home on his own, be sure to give ALL the vets in your area a flyer with a clear picture of Yogi to keep on hand. If he was stolen, his new owner will eventually have to take him to the vet.

Coco mauis response reminded me of one of my older cats. It got stuck in a neighbors old Airconditioning unit. Naturally we tore it apart and saved him, but he was really skinny. Just check all areas that he might have gotten into with no way to escape.
Hope hes ok,

Peace,
Brandon

I hope Yogi comes home to you soon, I can imagine how worrying it must be for you...my cat Toby went missing once and I eventually found him by calling the local vets office. He had been hit by a car and someone who saw the accident picked him up and took him into the vet. I'm sure you've checked your local shelters and vets but if not, it's worth a try.

Good Luck
