I went to a 70's-themed disco party last night to celebrate a friend's engagement. It was a lot of fun! Now it has me wanting to throw a 20's-themed party. To have lived in the Roaring 20's (if I had money) would have been great!

That leads me to wonder: If you could go back and live in another time, what time period would you choose and why? Or, if that's a little too much to consider, if you were to throw a themed party, what decade would you pick and why?

I'd have liked to have been in my 20's during the 1920's, if I had been well-off. The Dirty 30's would have been awful, but after getting through that, it wasn't long until it was picket fences and kitchen appliances for all!

I'd have loved to be an aristocrat in the Georgian and Victoria times.

Wouldn't want to go back in time as a woman as I'm a bit too independent and believe I have a right to opinions....
Theme party would probably be 70s, still lots of change going on, music was all over the place and so was fashion.  And of course as a theme party you'd have the benefits of modern fabrics and hair products so you could look way better than 'back in the day'!

I think I'd like to go back to the Roman times, so much was happening then and I'd like to be part of that.

It's hard to pick.  I've always felt like I was born a few generations late; so maybe in the 50s?  I do enjoy fiction (clean) set in the Regency period; but indoor and modern plumbing please!

My BFF loves fashion from the 20s.  Shes supposed to be making a dress for DD. She wants to sell some things.  There are some really cute hair accessories out with a vintage 20s flair too.  BFF just did a photo shoot in some 20s style things.  I think that would be the most fun for a party.  DH and I went to a 80s/90s theme party a few months back.  DH and I went in normal clothing though (we weren't the only ones).  Half the people there came in Afros and I couldn't tell who was who!  My God-mom came in and told me "This is what i looked like when my husband and I met!"  She was clearly enjoying it.

I would like to go back to the Antebellum period of the South. I love reading the books about plantation life.
