yes, after that cold you have to go to bed at a good hour....not like 4am.....plenty of rest, liquids and peaceful music....no dragon force for you @JTbo......lol
Ok, I had time to test song that MServant posted, reminds me of Whitney Houston and never have been able to listen even 1 minute, what is the word, between sweet and senstive and gentle, anyway too much all of those and any of those seem to be that causes music not to work too well for me. That music seem to work best if one likes from other ones affecting same emotion group, they are bit same as that iskelmä group.

Emotion stretching is my own term what is common for such songs and for some unknown reason that is causing for me feel to switch station, don't know really why, but I guess that is because everyone has different tastes in music.

Generally anything below 100 beats per minute is something that probably is not working for me too well, there are of course some exceptions.

But also for some other such as Dragonforce or Nightwish are just terrible nonsense noises that sound more or less like a blender, that is how much musical tastes are different, certainly does not make music any better or worse quality, just for single person one music can be better and for another it can be worse.

Three little birds I found too slow also, but that is also bit of mood thing, at least my musical taste changes with mood and time of the day.

Then again I do consider car engine as music, well only some engines, but quite often I had to turn radio off when driving as car's engine sounded better for me than what they did play on radio, so it can be that my musical taste is just quite weird :D

Alberto Di Norcia and Alfa Romeo 75 3000 America at Italian rally event:

My kind of fun, song of engine and co-driver giving pacenotes, really makes one feel happy. I have done bit of track driving myself but health stopped all that, so now I can only enjoy this kind of music, might not work for others :)

Here are two very silly 'blasts from the past' that always make me smile (and dance around the house):

Here are 2  fun songs from my favorite band in the whole world - The Dave Matthews Band (my David's namesake):

Everyday (Pick Me up Love!!): reason why = hugs galore, even from strangers, everyone needs love, no matter stranger or not:

  and,

You And Me Together: reason why= school kid muscicians playing with professional famous peeps - AND message, "we can do ANYTHING!!" if we put our minds to it..

Pumping Blood- no no no because I think it sounds like a fun song and there's a bunny in the video

C'mon by... Kesha (please don't throw things at me lol) it's just a happy sounding song and I listen to it when I'm on the spin bike

I'll just name a few more songs, Britney Spears Work B__, the remix Snooki danced to on Dancing with the Stars(yes too much time on my hands). It's another great song for the gym and even though some of the lyrics may be offensive, it DOES overall state that if you want certain things(it names fancy cars and to be in good shape(to put it mildly) and other stuff, then you better work, which I think is a refreshing change from some "sell drugs/live large" themes some songs glorify.

Heatwave- Martha and the Vandellas. I love the look of the girl group era and this songs always made me happy

Hmm, songs that make you happy, now one might get confused right here as this is such song, however it is based on text (Dies Irae) related to end of the world and such...

Anyway it is really great sounding song and nothing such dark as one might think, more of hero stuff, imo.

Yeah, might be there are rare few that likes from such, I find it quite perfect, makes me grin everytime I hear that song.

Here's one I'd forgotten about. It is just one piece of music from a group I could listen to for hours called Penguin Cafe Orchestra, and they always make me feel happy and relaxed.

This particular track is Perpetuum Mobile.   Most people will be familiar with their music without ever knowing it as it is often used in movies and TV programmes!

My happy place.
Two of my favourite songs have got to be;

Bob Marley-Stir it up.
This reminds me of hanging out with my friends in the summertime when I was a teenager.

Snap-The power.
Also a song from my teenage years. This one was THE one to dance to in the club's.

oh, there are just so many songs that make me happy when i listen to them!

i'd say two of my favorites would be glenn miller's in the mood, and jersey bounce. i also love pretty much anything by fats waller -- they're just happy upbeat songs.

i really like the way in some songs, like tommy dorsey's marie, there's the main person singing but also the band singing not so much as backup but ......as part of the song, it's unusual and i really enjoy that a lot.

i enjoy most types of music, but my favorites are big band/swing and jazz.

I know this thread is getting old but I have to share this song!

I think it's so much better than the origional by Oasis and makes me laugh every time I watch it. It's sooo cheezy it's good!

Lol.
...I think I might love "cheezy"....because I find this rendition, of the song "Wonderwall" is sheer Brilliance.!!!

I have never heard of ....'The Mike Flowers Pops"....so thank you @KittyWhiskers   for posting this.

I may have to spend the weekend listening to more of his songs.

I actually think this song is both meaningful and funny, at the same time...I don't know why.
(Maybe because his lyrics are clearer, and the colours are prettier.)

(I'm not sure why I forgot to visit this thread, because the songs are still timeless, and make me smile.)

I have not really listened to 'big band' very much, but the way you describe the "band singing ....as part of the song" IS very enjoyable.

It makes me appreciate the song more, now, since I had mainly heard the music, and not really on how the band's singing complemented the song. Very unique
