There's a French song that's really popular in Israel these days. I really like it. I can actually understand some of the French, but definitely not every word. Enough to know that she's singing about dancing in the streets, day and night, in the wind and the rain and flying, flying, flying!

@Anne, I love that song, full of passion.  One of the things I love about music is how it carries you away and conveys deep emotion without words, or when you do no undertand the actual.words.

Rather different to the earier songs I mentioned, 2 others are Patti Smith's Dancing Barefoot, and Gordon Lightfoot's Restless.  Both give me a feeling of almost flying if I listen to them with my eyes closed; I can feel myself lifted up and I feel myself breathing fresh air deep in to my lungs, instantly relaxed.  A lovely warm feeling.

OK, now I'm on to music again I can't get it out of my head so I went in search of some You Tube stuff of ones rattling around in my brain.  I'm afraid my brain is quite full or nonesense and I love Peggy Lee, and The Doodlin Song always makes me smile but no video of that one sadly :-(   Also love K T Tunstall's first single from about 5 years ago which is so full of light energy I loved it the minute I first heard it, quirky and different to other stuff I'd heard at the time.

OK,now I seriously need to go to sleep because it's nearly 1-30 am here....  Zzzzz

I am sorry I seem to be the only one posting here and I love music, especially stuff that makes me feel good.
Thinking of another two tracks that make me happy there are 2 completely different ones, one that makes me smile and the other one like I'm floating away somewhere although I have no idea what it's about....

The first is Screamin' Jay Hawkins' Hong Kong because it reminds me of a couple of kids I used to spend a lot of time with and their mum and I would have long car journeys with them squalking away in the back seat; music was a fun way to pass the journay and this 'tune' was a sing a long often on demand and had us all laughing.

@JTbo   the other one is for you.  Not your extra energy rock (and love the drumming in Dragonforce BTW) but peace and tranquility to me - may not be to you though.  I'd love to know what you think of Sigur Ros and  Fljotyavik..  (and have you ever looked at any of the stuff a guy called Oliver Sacks has written as I'm sure he wrote a short description of someone who visualised music like you do!)

......
Yes, @MServant....totally agree with you, the music and songs keep playing over in my head too.  lol.

Peggy Lee--Doodlin Song......funny and sweet...lol.

K.T. Tunstall--Black Horse and the Cherry Tree....I had to watch more of her songs, because could not get over the fact that she plays a song with only herself and mixing machines......very creative and talented.
.....

Patti Smith---Dancing Barefoot..... "Because the Night" is the only other song I know from her....and now I am going out to find more from her.

Gordon Lightfoot--Restless......ahh....we come to a great canadian singer songwriter..lol....So the ocean has been crossed once again.

My favorites from him are still Sundown, If You Could Read My Mind, and The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald. (But this last one is so sad based on a true ship sinking)

Restless is such a beautiful song, and also one I never listened to before. Very visual, lyrical and just plain peaceful.

Amazing song and the video was very fascinating. I had to watch it like 8+ times.  She has such a beautiful, strong voice.

I think MServant said it best:

Indila--Derniere Danse.

Olly Murs---Dance with me Tonight.

Admittedly, a bunch of "happy" songs came to me on the way to work this morning. I like all genres (even metal) except country, so my playlist is all over the place. I am a big reggae fan. Here are some that make me smile and dance
. Okay, the definition of this means that if I'm cleaning around the house, these songs make me drop the vacuum and bust a move. LOL.

Rolling Stones - Start Me Up

Tanto Metro & Devante - Everyone Falls In Love

Joss Stone - Girl They Won't Believe It

Pharell Williams - Happy

The Chirelles - Mr. Postman

311 - Amber

Bob Marley - Don't Worry Be Happy

Morgan Heritage - She's Still Lovin' Me

Prince - Kiss

Prince - Raspberry Beret  (pretty much anything Prince)

Eurythmics - Sweet Dreams

Bananarama - Cruel Summer (totally reminds me of the Karate Kid movie)

Hall and Oates - You Make My Dreams Come True

Stevie B. - Diamond Girl

Michael Jackson - Billy Jean

Soft Cell - Tainted Love

George Michaels - Faith

Bob Seager - Oldtime Rock and Roll

2Face - African Queen (Remix)

B.O.B. - I'll Be In The Sky

Barrington Levy - Be Strong

Bell Biv Devoe - Poison

Beyonce - Get Me Bodied

Britney Spears - Piece of Me (yes, you read that right)

Collie Buddz - She Gimme Love

David Guetta - Love Is Gone

DJ Class feat. Kanye West - I'm The Ish (Remix)

Don't Look Down - Bender

Gorillaz - Dare

Gyptian - Hold Yuh

Ian Van Dahl - Inspiration

Ida Corr - Let Me Think About It (Fedde Le Grand Radio Edit)

Jason Mraz - I'm Yours

India Arie - Better People (if you want positive, buy her records)

India Arie - There's Hope

Jagged Edge ft Run DMC - Let's Get Married (Remix)

Jet - Are You Gonna Be My Girl

John Legend - Green Light

Jump Smokers - My Flow So Tight

Okay, I'm only through "J" on my archive. Let me know if you'd like me to continue. Like I said. All...over...the...place.  Seriously, I could go on and on. I have a whole happy playlist. LOL. It helps with the stress of sick cats!

When I sit in front on the piano, that's a totally different definition of happy.

Yes, @GoHolistic.....please do continue.....but not on your way to work.....lol.   What about after work....so you don't accidentally end up late.

("J" is only one third of way there.)

So you're dropping vacuuming cleaners, busting moves and also play the piano..

Then you must tell us three songs you play on piano, which are your favourite.

Bob Marley - Don't Worry Be Happy
I did spot an error from your listing:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Don't_Worry,_Be_Happy

It is song by Bobby McFerrin, but so big has been a confusion that even local radio stations here have sometimes miscredited it to be Bob Marley's song.

Marley did die at 1981, while song Don't worry be happy was released 1988.

He is an American singer where as Marley was Jamaican:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bobby_McFerrin

One big reason for confusion might of been peer2peer networks where people share (often illegally) songs and then have mislabeled that particular song. Before those there was other kind of piracy networks where from people downloaded songs, during early to mid 90's it was common practice along the students and nobody even thought it being illegal, but eventually world did change on that matter after masses jumped into this internets thingy, but error of who sang that song might be at least partially because of that.

Hi @JTbo  you have extremely good eyes....lol.....I also went online to look this one up....and to be fair

@GoHolistic  was posting while on way to work.....so that was a lot of typing.  or even cut and paste...lol

Bob Marley has a unique, distinctive voice, so I am rather surprised that so many online have mislabeled the song.....however so many have also mislabeled many go-go's songs as being from the "bangles" and vice versa.   I guess it just shows that the people love all sorts of music, too,  and with so many artists...there is bound to be some fun confusion.

Bob Marley had a similar song, though...here...called "three little birds".  check it out.

Thanks for that mention, and for getting me over to hear Bob.

Thanks for the correction!

And, just  to clarify, I was not typing all those songs out while I was on my way to work (hence, I was not typing and driving!). I was thinking of some on my way to work while sitting in traffic, and then typed them up later when I got back home.

lol...okay....I did not think you were driving, but rather on a bus or subway, somewhere....lol

One of my friends had missed her bus stop home. and went two bus stops further...because she was reading text messages....So now I say to all....don't text and drive.....and don't text while riding the bus....either....lol.

Hope you had a great day, @GoHolistic.......Now that work is over, you can just relax on TCS...cheers.

I remember before smart phone time there was some phone or other product that was advertised that it will type txt messages and you need only to talk, everything was easy and perfect in advert of course. Here we are at least 10 years later and I still can't manage to get any sensible text recognized from my speech :D

I think that Bobby's voice in that song has some similarities to Bob's singing and also as Bobby is not as known, that might be why also people make connection to Bob as he might be one of the few of such style.

@cat nap, it seems to be that playback is restricted to that Bob's song in my country.

Love ALL of those tracks.  The first Gordon Lightfoot track I ever heard was the Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald: a local late night radio DJ used to play it regularly, and soon as I heard it I headed out to find more of his stuff.  His voice is amazing, and what a song writer!  One of the few artists I can play in the apartment and Mouse doesn't run off - he seems to like the tone of Gordon Lightfoot's voice, esp on the slower tracks. Peaceful, yes..  And you got to Bob Marley's Three Little Birds ahead of me!  Yet another tune we have in common.
Love it, definitely another happy tune on my favourites list.

@cat nap, I'd be more than happy to meet up and dance in the streets of Paris, enjoying all these tunes, and if Olly Murs showed up that would be even better!
A great big TCS dance party. Yey.

Love reggae as well, and music taste all over the place.  It is so good to find other people who are in the same boat, and just enjoy music!   I play piano too, and that makes me very happy but pretty sure no one else that has to hear me play share my happy experience!
I hope you play better than  I do....

oh, I don't know why youtube videos do that...I mean restrict access.  We get that a lot in canada, too, not being able to watch american network talkshows  which we can already see on t.v. but not through ISP.

So don't know it its ISP...or other website blocking it?

@JTbo ..go over to youtube then and just search  Bob Marley...."three little birds"...there is a video there also, and its says official but I had never saw it before, so don't really know if it is or is not.

You know I really like that posting of Dragonforce --Heroes of our time.  And even if the new singer has a sweeter, quieter voice, they still sound good

Sadly, I miss the first singer of Nightwish, now....lol

How did you like what MServant posted?  about that song about being in ship, and waiting for storm to pass?

Glad you like from Dragon Force, it has kind of speed I prefer :D

Oh yes, forgot to mention that MServant's link was restricted too. It is copyright reasons, for example our copyright laws don't allow fair use as US laws allow, not sure about Canada.

I try to look more of those songs tomorrow, it is soon 4am here, need to get sleeping soon.

"One more Time" by Daft Punk (I think its Daft Punk). Something about the beat really gets me going!
