Here's the thread I made before about this: http://www.thecatsite.com/forums/sho...oo+lost+weight (the second link doesn't work for some reason)

I've been really worried about Roo lately because Darrell and I think he's gained weight again. I've been feeding them a 1/2 cup each dry food at night and a 1/4 can of wet food about noon. So I've cut out the wet food and only feed them 2 or 3 treats each in the 'morning'. I looked at Roo today and I think he's lost weight! Now it might just be my imagination...but I've NEVER seen his belly go inwards at all!

Do you think it could've been the wet food? Or do you think he's just really hungry and could be living off some fat reserves? Here's a pic I just took to show you what I mean.

Please ignore the hairy oversized MAN foot.

It would be great if he lost weight. I am sure that he isn't going hungry, he just wants you to feel that way so you feed him!

Does he play with the little 'un? When we got Kahu and Peedoodle ran around more often, playing with Kahu, he went down from 22lbs to now 17lbs - the vet was happy. He is looking so much better and has more energy.

Roo is beautiful!

Roo does play with Kanga a lot. Hopefully that is what is helping. Do you think I should go back to feeding some wet food in the mornings?

He has definitely lost some of his tummy fat. I think he is so adorable that I always look closely at his pics. The new ones of him and his mini me are great!

Easy way to check on a regular basis is:

Step on the scale and weigh yourself. Note your weight and weigh yourself once more with Roo in your arms. Note second weight.

The difference between your own weight and that of
yours plus Roo's gives you Roo's weight. That way you can keep a weekly check on him and don't have to guess.

PS I have the exact opposite issues with Loki - he always looks to Skinny to my but my Vet says he is just nice and lean.

I think neo has lost weight too. I think it is the kittens though keeping him extra active. So maybe it is the same thing with roo. Kanga has been giving him a work out!

My Liberty Belle has side bulge and tummy swag and weighs 13.7 lbs and is only 2 years old and not large framed....my vet said the culprit was likely the Whiskas pouches I use to feed her, packed with calories as some wet foods are.So, now she gets it once in awhile, because I have stepped them way up, to Nutro for better ingredients. Lol you guys. You're all so cute!

Is there any way to get lipsocution or a tummy tuck for kitties? Some way of getting rid of that 'purse' that swings back and forth when they run?

Helen, I don't have a scale.

I wouldn't go back to the wet food. It is also probablyy better for his teeth to stay away from it!
