How much are you giving your cats? My kitten is 9 months old weighs about 10 pounds.
Do you give them less if their food has probiotics?
I gave him it for the second time last night and today he has soft stoole. Should i decrease the amount or is that normal at the begining of stating probiotics?
Also whats the easiest way to spit a capsule in 2 portions?

When I started giving my cats probiotics, I split the capsule between them initially until I could see that they tolerated it well. My big male tabby now gets a capsule split between two meals.

If wet food already contains probiotics, I would be inclined to not add more. Your kitty's stools should look moist and healthy, but firm when receiving probiotics. Stools may be a bit soft initially, and sometimes there can be other symptoms like bloating or gas. This is normal and a sign that the probiotic is working to detoxify and balance the gut flora. If the soft stool persists or becomes diarrhea after a week or so, it could be a sign that your kitty is not tolerating this particular brand well or you are giving them too much.

Its always best to start anything that is going to be processed in the gut, in small amounts to avoid stomach upset or problems with elimination.

When splitting a capsule, I usually just eye-ball it in opening the capsule and pouring one half into wet food, and then close the capsule back up for the next meal.

Thnaks, I keep it in the fridge and it doesnt slpit evenly. The dry food he is on has probiotics. But he was going more then once a da, sometimes smelly and light colored.. and was hoping it would help his immune system.

Yes, Probiotics can help quite a bit. When the flora in the digestive tract is healthy, food will be digested more efficiently, and when digestion is optimal then the immune system works that much better.

Depending on the food you are feeding, light-colored and smelly soft stools can mean that the food is not being digested well, but going right through him. I have found that this happens when there is a lot of fibre or grains such as corn in dry food. Stools should be well-formed and tootsie role size.

EDIT: What dry food are you feeding at this time?

The dry is Purevita. I feed only grain free wet and dry. He is on the same diet as my other 6 cats and they have no problems.
