Hi all I posted in Cat S.O.S about a beautiful grey tabby girl called Mazy! She's believed to be about three years old though as we all know she could be a lot older! Mazy has had a rough life including being a stray before her saving grace was being taken in and handed to Helping Pets North East (UK BASED ANIMAL CHARITY) whom have been working with her. They aren't sure to the extent of what Mazy has gone though but she's a really frightened girl (backing up hissing spitting) could easily be seen as aggression so she won't be being rehomed with young children. But they think Mazy may have had trouble with other animals. This has been exhibeted by her being very frightened by the other animals in the foster home she is in and leading to her eating very little of the food she is offered. Any ideas on coaxing Mazy into eating or helping her come to terms with other animals would be very helpful as the longer it takes to find this gorgeous girl her furever home the more anxious she will become!

here is a picture of the gorgeous mazy :)

Awww she is beautiful, and you can see she's stressed too. What other kind of animals do they have there?

I would definitely look into ways to generally lower her stress levels. We have an article about that -

Six Surefire Strategies to Reduce Stress in Cats

There are some good ideas there, and I wouldn't rule out the last one too, if the first five aren't working for her.

I would suggest trying some flower essences with Mazy.  Rescue remedy is always a good choice and the Spirit essences line is top notch.  I have also had really good luck with Composure.  They make feline treats, but I find the liquid Composure Max that can be mixed into wet food is best.  It really helps to calm the cat.

When I took in a feral last year, he was petrified of my dog.  She is a large dog and harmless, but she is a dog and moves quickly and loudly.  She also just wanted to sniff the cat in the worst way.  At firs the feral was in a room of his own, but when we let him out I kept her on a leash and tethered to me whenever he was around.  I used a short leash and either held it or used a carabiner clip to fasten the leash to my belt loop.  This helped the cat to feel safe and learn to trust me that I wouldn't let her get too close.

I hope Mazy will find some comfort as well as a loving home where she is the only pet!!
