I was peeved at John on Friday. When he got home from work Excalibur escaped and John didn't realize it. Excalibur is strictly an indoor cat. John picked me up at the bus stop 2 hours later and we picked up take out. We get home and I hear a pathetic little meow. He was huddled under our front hedges. John was mad ae Excalibur for escaping and I was mad at John for letting him escape and not finding him for over 2 hours! Excalibur was a little dirty and in need of major loving, but not really the worse for wear!

John should know better...Excalibur loves to escape!

I know how scary that is!!! And my hubby's the same. All our cats are indoor only unless supervised in the garden. Ken lets them out for a scamper and then doesn't watch them, and inevitably Fifi wanders off. We then have to wander round the backs of the gardens like a pair of complete tools calling out for the cats and rattling biscuit boxes.

Good job your little wanderer is back home none the worse for his travels.

Glad Excalibur was okay. Well, I wouldn't be that angry with your husband. After all, it wasn't on purpose!

But stories like this make me wonder if cats are really meant to be strictly indoor. I understand it is for their own protection, etc. and I am not against it.
Anyway, have a nice day!

He just has a history of doing stuff like this - locking them in the closet. The worst was when he came home and closed the cat between the screen door and the front door for over an hour. I was walking home from the bus stop and heard the cat crying over 100 feet away. My poor Merlin! He is the one who has had cats since before he could walk, he should know to be careful!

I guess that all fall into the category of what is important to a person. Only because someone has had cats before/grew up with them and should know better dosen't make it so and most likely never will. Instead of being angry you need to sit down with hubby and talk this out maybe there is a solution you both can live with.

I am so happy that your baby is back home and safe!!

Well at least Exclaibur didn't get lost! Cats are sneaky, I would be to hard on him for not noticing.

I have forgiven him and he has promised to be extra careful. It was such a sad sight to see him crouched under the bush. For such a big kitty he sure has a pathetic meow. He got some treats when he got in!

Glad excalibur is safe and sound!

I'm with Hissy. I wouldn't be so hard on him. Cats are very sneaky and good at going unnoticed at times. EAsier said then done though.... I'd be upset too if it were my cat!
