Sunshine! 50 degrees! Birds! Squirrels destroying your bird feeders!

How much do you pay for communications (cell phone, TV, internet, land phone, etc) in your household, and are you happy with it?

Next month, my Comcast bill is going up because it was the end of the promotional rate for my service. I have the 25 Mbps package for $30 for 8 months, and then starting next month it'll be $50. Since we don't have TV, and have no use for a landline, I am not planning to switch providers or plans. I used to pay $45 a month in my old apartment with an exclusive ISP, so this rate isn't too bad. My cell phone plan is $35 a month from Virgin Mobile. Not a big cell user either. It comes with unlimited data, which is really what I use most.

If you add up mine it comes to $125 per month (similar to USA$)..  that's landline, internet and mobile.

I have a feeling I could do better, but through companies that don't have the cred of the ones I use.. or maybe it's in the too hard basket!

And I would like to say that this is the first time I've answered a QOD on the day that it was posted!  Are you up very, very late at night, Cory??

Cable TV is €18, home phone and internet €30, and mobile (unlimited data/national calls) €20 a month, so €68 a month = $94 at the current exchange rate.

I pay what I think is an outrageous amount but I think it's just really high here after the promotional rates run out.  I pay $169 a month for cable TV and internet and $57 a month for cell phone.  I don't have a land line.  I can justify the high speed internet connection because I work from home and the cell phone is my only phone.  I know the cable isn't a necessity but it is my only consistent monthly entertainment expense.

l used to pay $166 to one of "the two big" companies here, for internet, cable TV basic, and landline.

l've done away with TV altogether since l'm not much of a watcher. Any sports or news l want to watch are free on the internet.

Now l've gone with a smaller company, Tek Savvy, and l pay $58 plus tax a month for VoIP home phone service and 28Mbps cable internet w/300GB bandwidth.

We pay $117 for cable and internet a month. (Used to have dial-up years ago and I will go without the internet before I go back. Around here, it's either dial-up or cable.) Our cable bill increases for September, October, November, December, and January because I add the Red Zone on for Rick's football addiction.

We pay roughly about $200 for our cell phones a month. That also includes a line for Rick's mother that we pay. She has a regular clam shell phone, no smartphone. Rick and I both have Droids....his is a Droid Ultra (6 GB data) and mine is a Droid Razr Maxx HD (with 2 GB data). That doesn't include the 18% discount for my phone that I get through work, so the bill is actually lower than that.

(And you will pry my Droid out of my cold, dead hands.)

I think we pay about $150 for our cell phones and internet.  We don't have cable TV; we have a couple ROKU boxes and use Netflix and Amazon Instant Video on them.  We have magic jack so we could maintain a landline.  We don't have smartphones; just a shared plan with one of the smaller texting packages.  Amazon and MagicJack are once a year payments and Netflix is relatively inexpensive.  Altogether it's cheaper than what we were paying for TV and phone through one of those "triple" bundle deals.  There was so much we didn't watch on TV and our rates kept creeping up a couple dollars here; twenty there.  We had enough.  I think before we cancelled the bundle that alone was approaching $200; maybe closer to $180 (then add in $65 or so for the cell phones).

We pay $73 a month for our internet. It's unlimited, but it's slow. Unfortunately, it is the only option we have where we live. We have a Magic Jack for the home phone, it goes through the internet and costs about $50 a year. My cell phone is $20.75 a month and my husbands is $15. We are both on prepaid, it's so much cheaper than a plan. Cell phone plans are ridiculously expensive in Canada.

I pay around $160 for what is called The Triple Play.  It includes cable TV, Internet and phone.  I can call anywhere without paying more, even some Countries.  The 411 information  # is always free.

Do you have WhatsApp on your phone? Highly recommended.

I do! I use it to text my family all around the world (my sis in Canada, my brother in England, my mom in Malaysia and my dad in Thailand). I do have unlimited nationwide messaging though. VM's plan suited me best because I only get 300 minutes a month, which is more than enough for me, but unlimited everything else, and no international calls (that's what Skype is for!).

Sad that Facebook is buying Whatsapp though.

I go to bed very late too.
Perks of a pensioner.
I use my WhatsApp to America and South Africa besides my family here.
Will it make a difference that Facebook - that I don't have - has bought WhatsApp?

I don't have Skype but my deal with my phone company and calls abroad are ridiculous. Pennies.

$99/month for cable and internet, $73/month for droid on Verizon (unlimited text and data, 400 min talk/month). My Verizon plan is grandfathered in until I decide to sign a new one.

We pay $50 for internet with TWC. For the price, it's too slow. Only option here, though. So I split that cost in half with my ex/roommate. We were paying $60 a month for our cable TV with TWC as well, but channels kept dropping because they're horrible in their business practices, so we canceled that a few months ago. Then I pay $40 for my cellphone. It's a prepay with AT&T. No landline.
