Today,My kitten's butt looks puffy and red. It even seems like he can't properly sit down on the ground. Even though he an out doot cat, when we found him a month ago  he poops every without using the litter boxes provided it seems he can't control it but i thought was due to no prior litter box training.

At first his turd looked black and stiff now that he had proper feeding it seems he has softer but more frequent poops like diarhea, i even notice he licks himself there frequently where he may have lick fur off.

We have been treating the areas with cayenne pepper to keep him and other cats  from pooping / spraying near the car's garage / porch but i worried that it may be affecting him or worse. I'm not sure if it's the new 10 pound frisky food either.

i think its inflammed  and put some   vaseline/ petroleum jelly with cottonball on his butt.

I also tried intoducing cat grass (but like kids he doesn't seem to like his veggies) and tried giving him more water.

will or can this help put the reddness and  swelling down?

Is there any other way holistic, natural, or afforadable ways to treat him?

He likely has diarrhea that is irritating his butt. The only solution is a visit to the vet for poop meds.

Diarrhea is strong and can leave burned areas, raw skin.

Hi there,

I'm sorry your kitten isn't feeling well.  It could be the change in food that caused his diarrhea.  How old is your kitten?  Maybe he still needs food specifically made for kittens.  Has he seen a vet yet?  If he hasn't been dewormed, it could be what's causing his diarrhea.

I'm not sure if certain types of hemorrhoid creams can be used on kittens.  I would definitely call your vet and ask for advice.

I wouldn't use the cayenne pepper anymore.  I know how frustrating it can be when you don't want cats to go in certain places but there are safer alternatives out there.  If the cat's butt touched the pepper it could cause inflammation since the skin there is so sensitive.  Plus, if he ever walked on the pepper and licked his paws, I can't imagine how painful that would be.

In the meantime, I would gently clean his butt area if he has poop stuck to it.  And I agree with what your doing with the Vaseline.

I'm sorry if that's not much help.  I would definitely try to find out what's causing his bathroom issues.  If you don't, he will continue to have diarrhea and a sore butt.  Plus, if his digestive system is off, he may not be absorbing all of the nutrients he needs at this time in his life.  Good luck - hope he get's better soon :).

Please take your cat to the vet. This sounds very serious and painful and he needs medical care.
