Look who met Felix today! She was so good with him, at one point Felix crawled over to her. I think Ruby and Felix are going to be great friends!

I think that's normal and all part of learning consequences, Daisy is often quite rough with her kittens and I hate it, I do sometimes step in but most of the time leave them to it as I'm sure she knows what she's doing

Any advice please, Felix will he 5 weeks on tuesday, i still haven't seen him poop yet, he's not even trying to entertain the idea of eating solid foods...at all! Im just concerned his deferment is further behind than it should be. He still really small to me compare to pics of other kittens the same age as him...his ears aren't even fully erect yet!

He looks at completely normal development for a three weeks in the three week photo. Do you have a picture of what he looks like now to compare ?

It could be that mom cat is still eating the poop when you are not looking.

Have you tried putting kitten formula down to see if he will lap at that ? If he will you can then mush some solid food into the kitten formula and wean him that way :D

Yeah, Ive tried the formula and the mushed up kitten food with formula, he doesn't even sniff it. He's quite big but he doesn't weigh much, he's only 356g. Next doors kittens are already nearly 300g at less than 2 weeks old.

Is he still suckling all the time ?

If so I think you are going to have to be cruel to be kind. Start separating them for as longer periods - so he starts to get hungry

Surprisingly he only really spends the.night suckling, he doesn't suckle all that much now. Tigger spends a good few hours away from him no and he doesn't cry for her or anything. He likes to play with me and any children he sees. He can walk really good and is running too (well kind of ha). He's even learnt to climb out of the nest. In many ways his progress is really good but in others he's really lacking, Tiggers milk is starting to dry up now she only has 3 milk producing nipples. But she doesn't seem to be in a hurry to encourage him to eat solids either. I'm probably just thinking too much into it but I've been through too much with this little guy already and I just want him to be alright.

On top of that, my male cat Sam was attacked by a fox a few nights back so I'm having to spend quality time with him and bathing his wounds (not easy). And I'm sure tigger is looking really swell on her tummy again. Honestly she looks pregnant again.

Oh poor Sam :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes:

That is odd with Felix. I've never had a kitten quite that stubborn ;) is he still gaining enough weight every day ?

Has he tried eating cat litter yet ? Most kittens go through a stage of trying to eat the cat litter before solid food - not sure why they do this but most try.

Have you tried to stand him in the food dish so he can walk through it ? Messy but most kittens do this when they start weaning. It helps to get them to look and sniff at the food

Thanks for the advice I will be sure to try it. Although I'm sure I'm just being a tad hysterical ha.

He is still gaining weight, not that much, usually somewhere between 8-15g a day, but sometimes he'll stay the same or only gain like 4/5g but I try not to worry straight away, and I've got some kitten milk replacement just in case.
