Hi,

Just dropping an introductory note and a thank you for having this forum. It has been immensely helpful since I just adopted Hugo, a rescue kitten 2 months ago. He's doing good and we have been working on grain free food and a bit of apple cider vinegar on the side.

Here's to more to go!

Cheers,

Q

Welcome.  Hugo's adorable!  Apple cider vinegar?  Does he drink it in water or--how do you use it with him?

He is... I think he knows he is adorable (Cough). I forgot to mention that he is about 5 months old at this point.

uh, I usually mix it with water before mixing it in with his wet food in the morning.

Interesting!  You mix the apple cider vinegar in his food?  I'd think it would be bitter.  Do you use it as a flea repellant, I've heard it's useful for that--or for some other reason?

He seems to like it. He would lap up all the water  (1 or less than half a teaspoon of ACV with enough warm water to just cover the base of a bowl) first before proceeding to gobble his food. (He's a bit of a foodie). I use it more as a preventative and upkeep against UTI and goopy discharge. Hugo had goopy eyes (clear discharge but brown crust)  and as well as around his nose and eyes when I first got him 2 months ago. The vets said nothing about the tear stains but after starting on ACV, he seems to have less discharge and less or no brown encrustation.

Thanks for the info--and it must be working, Hugo's eyes are beautiful.
