My 9 1/2 month old kitten scratches outside of all three of the litter boxes, and pees outside of one of the boxes constantly along with kicking alot of litter everytime she goes. Regardless of which box shes going to or if shes going number 1 or 2. She has also peed on the same blanket 2 times. When she goes outside the box, she scratches as if shes attempting to cover her mess with litter that isnt there. Is my kitten showing signs of being ill or is she trying to tell me something? Any info is welcome right now! I should add that she is up to date on shots along with getting spayed in a couple weeks.

It sounds behavioral to me unless she is straining in the litter box or having trouble going, or is going outside the box.  What kind of litter are you using, and when did this start?

We use clump n seal. We switched litters thinking it would stop the accidents. But there was no change between litters

I would get her to the vet for a check up to rule out anything medical like a urinary infection.  Then, use a box with higher sides, like a plastic under the bed storage tote or something similar to keep the litter inside.  Also, try adding Dr. Elsey's Cat Attract litter to the box.  How many boxes do you have?  You should have 1 more box than you have cats.  You might also consider using Feliway diffusers to help.

If you think she is sick get her to the vet though it does sound behavioural to me try reintroducing her to the litter box and when she pee's out side of it say no and put herr in the box then clean up the urine with an enzyme cleaner and put aluminium foil over the area!
