I was looking on the feline rescue message boards and someone in ths area is looking to relocate a feral cat.I thought someone may be able to take the cat.
Here are her 2 messages.

I have been caring for a feral cat and her two kittens. I have found a no-kill shelter that will take the two kittens. I have to relocate and cannot take the mother cat with me. I will spay and make sure she has all her shots. I am desperate to find a new, loving location for her.

Thank you for replying. I realized after I sent the post that I did not indicate the area I live in. I am in Queens, New York. Bayside, Flushing area. Anyone out there that can help me? This post is regarding relocating a feral cat.

Here is the link to the message

Hmm, I have been trying to find someone in that area, cause there is a pair of Abys I would love to adopt that is in Bayside! It's far for me to drive, was hoping someone could meet me part of the way. Perhaps I can help her find a home for the mother cat, if she can help me. Feel free to give her my email address, [email protected]

Thanks!

The 2 Abys are on Petfinder, Buster and Abigail, they're at a vet's office in Bayside. I haven't applied for them yet because I've been trying to figure out when I'd have time to go and get them! Bayside is about 2 1/2 hrs from me, 5 hrs+ round trip.

As far as the feral cat, I know there's a local Alley Cat Allies member, about 10 minutes from me, I could see if she'd be able to help.

Fighting for ferals in NW NJ!
Does our friend in Bayside have a deadline for relocating the mom? When is the cat being spayed?

Sue - normally Gary and I would offer to help with transportation. 2 1/2 hours is a normal commute for us, LOL! Unfortunately, this is a REALLY busy time for us, so we just can't commit to driving to Queens, then driving to the Philly area.

AND, we'd rather rescue local ferals, and we don't have the details worked out yet, but we're pretty sure we're going to be able to accomodate another 6 on this property. I doubt we'd be able to find out before the end of this week, which is why I was asking about the timeline on this.

BUT.... Sue, if you can't work out transportation within whatever timeframe we're working with, and whether or not you have worked out a home for this feral, if we're able to work it out with the property owners (we're in the process of relocating the ferals to their barns - see this thread http://www.thecatsite.com/forums/sho...threadid=26873) perhaps Gary and I can work out a time to drive into Bayside to pick up the three cats. It'd be just as long for you to head up to where we are because the North-South route has no major highways - but perhaps instead of heading home via 80 we could head home via 78, and figure out somewhere for the three of us to meet, whether in NJ (closer for us to get home) or Bethlehem, PA, where rte 33 heads North to get us back home.

I know we can't do it this week, and our time next week is restricted. But if you can't work something else out, please PM or e-mail me and we'll see if we can't help out here.

Hi-

It looks lie you have not logged on here for a couple of years. But, here goes. You are in Flushing, Queens.. I tried to adopt two cats living without shelter in backyard there..winter - summer. Woman has Elvis and Cuddles listed on Petfinder LovingTouch out of Queens . She is a psycho. Old man behind her is 82 yrs old and feeds them.. that is it. She would rather they live like this than move to a nice house in upstate New York. A horder mentality. She has turned away a couple of other suitable adoptees. Can you help? Since you live in Queens, NY?? Any ideas how to get these two strays out this woman's clutches? The old man (don't know his name) would sign them over to anyone. He trusts her. She just wants them to freeze to death in her and his backyard.

Help!
