Is it you had felt them about 2 weeks now?   One possible variation here is, they had passed further down into the birthing positions, with the birth now quite near, a couple of day away.   They dont move as much there, and also - they are further down.  So you dont feel them at their old places...
This is the most probable, they dont often dies off inside mom, unless they got poisoned or such...
