So this morning I was having my usual nuzzle cuddles with Lilly and I was stroking her ears/paws and I noticed they felt warmer than normal her paw pads are normally cool to the touch and they were hot her ears also felt hot. But she still perceded to have her mad half hour of a run and then hid for a while. Its been a struggle to get her to eat her meals. She'll eat but makes a big deal of it taking her time and walking away from her bowl and then going back sometime later for more. She's on kitten food at the moment and turns 1 in april but I just don't know what to do because bar being a little less active (not interested in playing with us and her toys) she seems fine.

Lilly has spent all if not most of the morning on the top perch of her tree sleeping normally at this time she is running around like crazy feeling at odds right now.

I suggest you either go purchase a rectal thermometer and take her temp, or take her to the vet and have her vitals taken. Though not always true, "hot" ears and paw pads are typically indicative of a fever. I'd rather play it safe.

I wouldn't recommend a rectal thermometer for home use.  You can use an ear thermometer (like for babies) and it'll work just as well and not run the risk of injuring the kitty's rectum.

Our vets use the ear thermometer...one of my cats had an allergic reaction to the disposable protective covering. =\
No more ear thermometers for us.

We use a piece of plastic food covering for the plastic protector.  I'm cheap and refuse to buy more of those things!

Cats are so good at not appearing to be ill!  But you are picking up on the right things - anything that is out of the ordinary for them, particularly more sleep/hiding, and being off their food.  Combined with hot ears, I'd say she had a fever.  Watch that she isn't getting dehydrated - you may need to tempt her with some tuna flavoured water/other ways of getting in more wet food like hand feeding (works over here!).

We've changed her food to a pate style which she is eating alot more heartily than the kitten food she was on. She has since cooled down and i've been tempting her with a saucer of water on her fav window perch so she can drink while watching the birds/people/dogs in the street below!

She has perked up a lot and seems better today on the new food so I'm thinking this may have been from not eatting as much as she needed as she wasn't enjoying the meals being offered. We do need to set up a second litter box for her though.
