Good afternoon: :anon:

this is the question of the day, sorry for the late, today was a unexpectable day, the tire was flat, the director of area of my job came unexpectable and ask for something that we do not have to simply sight, etc...:disa:
but now all is under control, thanks for your wait..

So after this days in the spring it comes in many parts of the world, the question is:

Do you work on your Garden with the change of season? I mean, do you change your plants decoration every year with the change of season or you only give mainteinance at your garden?
Ok, for the persons who lives in a condo or an appartment, maybe change the decoration inside your kitchen or living room wih a new plants with the change of season... tell us about it..

Ok let´s fun! :hyper:

And once again thanks for your patience...:)

I have different things for my front door for many holidays; but the hook I was using fell off (a command hook) and I've not bothered to replace it yet; so nothing has been up since Christmas.

Outside I plant a veggie garden with some marigolds in it during the spring and it will go into the fall.  By then as the veggies are dying off the marigolds get nice and full.  It's pretty!  I have potted herbs and some flowers too for our front steps and patio.  Plus a triple shepherds staff.  I only put 2 hanging baskets of flowers on it though.  I have a bird feeder that looks like a porch swing I hang from the top.  (Which means I get bird-seed-weeds growing in the pot below it.)  I like to have mums and pumpkins out in the fall.

I am hoping to put in a boarder next to our curved front walkway.  I need to research first.  I'd like to plant it to have color there all year round.  Or at least Spring to Fall.

I did maintenance, mainly.  But I always wished I had more color in the winter!

I wish I could garden, or at least a small outdoor place for some nice potted plants! I am in an apartment.

my cats eat any indoor plants, so that's a no no here :(

Hi Draco
.   Mouse eats / attacks anything remotely plant like.....    Pre-Mouse I used to enjoy having little plants or flowers at my windows, and in spring I'd open the curtains wider and have something nice and bright on the tables or cupboards close by.  Maybe change flowers from reds to yellows.  These days I have a weighted down vase with some fake flowers in and they're the same all year round....  maybe when Mouse is a pensioner I'll get something a bit more exciting again.
I still like to open the curtains nice and wide once spring appears (in winter I keep the tops shut together and just tie back as it keeps the rooms a bit warmer and you don't see so much of the gray sky).

I just pulled my curtains back to their 'summer' position this morning as the light coming in looked like it was changing for the better.

Never done it before, but I want to decorate my living room with plants. When I was living at home, we'd change plants for the different festivals (we live in the tropics, so it's summer all year long). Now I live in an apartment, so sadly I don't have a garden of my own.

Many years ago B.C. (Before Cats), our house looked like a jungle with all the plants everywhere in every room. I dearly love plants and flowers, I love taking care of them, I love talking to them, I love watching them. Once the cats came to live with us, I realized that (at least for me) cats and plants cannot co-exist. And I really miss having plants in the house.....but I'd miss the cats more (most of the time
).

We have flowerbeds outside and while I do spend a lot of time taking care of them, I don't change them around too much. Once we have a garden planted, other than standard maintenance, we leave the stuff alone. We will go in and divide plants (daylilies especially propagate like crazy; that's how we got them to grow at the side of the pool fence, simply by moving them all the time). We have a nice assortment of flowers and plants in the beds and I think our beds look nice most of the time. At certain times of the year, though, they tend to get a bit scruffy and then I go in and rip. We also have the vegetable garden up in the back yard and that takes a lot of time, too. Rick and I have been writing some things down in our vegetable planning for this year...some veggies that we want to try to plant. (And trying to figure out how to outwit the raccoons this year!
)

My sister gave me a ton of red cannas; we plant them every spring and then dig them up again in the fall. We try not to have too many bulbs that we have to plant and then dig back up because it can be a pain to get everything dug back up. I do love dahlias, though, so I will keep my dahlias from year to year. And elephant ears. I like elephant ears, too. I love the different coleus plants; there are some truly beautiful coleus and the foliage is gorgeous.

Every spring I think that this is going to be the year that our gardens will look perfect! Which lasts for about a month.

I love spending time outside in the flowerbeds. I don't really have much of a green thumb, but I love being outside. I live for summer.

We don't have a lot of decorations as such outside. Rupert, the gargoyle, lives in the front yard. Apex, the flying dragon, is still living atop the trellis by the pool out back. Rohland and Theo are our raingutter dragons who stay in the side yard. We have the pool out back and the tiki bar is still in the back yard, too. We have the lion head water fountain by the pool. Right now, everything is covered for winter.

I love natural light, so during the summer, the curtains are completely open; the windows are completely open. We usually have a cat in pretty much every window when they're open (although they'll sometimes fight over one or two windows that they all like). Rick has a thing about having the drapes closed at night, but when he's not home, everything is always wide open....I can't help it. I just love the feeling of light and airiness. I think I'd be happy living in the tropics because of the light and the warmth and the colors.

Inside the house, I don't really change décor much at all. Other than tablecloths in the kitchen. I love tablecloths; I think they add a bit of pizzazz sometimes, especially the real firecracker colors of summer. We do change pretty much the whole kitchen and living room around at Christmas, but that's it. Again, I can't do all that much because my cats do not know how to behave!
Everything is a toy, everything is lunch.

I definitely put different things up both inside and outside for the seasons. My St Patrick's Day wreath just came off of the door and a Spring wreath just went up. An Easter decoration will go up soon. We also have a decorative flag in the front of the house that I am constantly changing.

As far as plants outside. The previous owners planted the yard so there is something always out and blooming (except in the dead of Winter) right now the witch hazel tree is blooming and the snowdrops are out. A few of the crocuses are out too. In summer I will put pots of flowers out also.

I have a few plants inside, but those stay the same and I am not very good about watering them. :anon:

I saw a raccoon checking out the bird feeder last night. It was huge, and I almost had a heart attack because at first I thought Jed escaped and is now outside the window.

Use the windowsills. You can have lovely coloured flowers out there

All my nice plants I passed to my daughter in law because of my two. I have a 'mother-in-laws tongue' which will soon touch the ceiling. I have something else but I have no idea t it is.
I'm thinking of growing some herbs on my windowsill.

Erm, well maybe a few more fake flowers... like AbbysMom I'm pretty remiss at watering.
Even without plant hungry cats present I've had to throw out numerous plants or take them to my mom's for intensive plant - care.

I found myself looking longingly at nice fake flowers in Ikea yesterday but managed to resist buying (insufficient funds).  My apartment is definitely giving out messages to me to have a little spring flurry and brighten things up.

There are green plants that don't harm cats when they chew on the them . years ago I used to put leaves with roots into water to get them so I could plant them. Well I didn't. Number 1 cat drank the water and nibbled on the leaves. O eventually bought her a lovely jarsy vase and it sat on my sideboard specially for her. You could also grow cat grass and catnip (mint) :-)

Hmmmm, I tried the cat grass, apart from being rather suspicious that Mouse's gums seemed to get red every time we had it in the house (maybe chemicals in the growing meium or something?) he made such an evil mess draggin the bits of grass around the house roots and all I decided he wouldn't get any more.  I did feel mean though.
