I am getting ready for my first show in August with my cat and I am waiting for access to the show forum so I can ask questions to help get ready for it. In the mean time, I'm reading as much as I can about HHP in CFA and am getting very excited for it! I do rally (obedience competition) with my mutt dog and I'm really excited about categories for mixed breed cats to compete also :)

There's so many interested articles and quality posts here though which is why I'm finding out how much I like this site!!

What first drew your attention to the cat site?

And this is Oscar :) He just turned 2~

What a beautiful cat! I love his color. I joined for the same reason as a lot of people I suspect, looking for some comfort after my precious Chrissy was killed. I needed other cat lovers that knew how I felt. Then I was hooked, I could talk about my cats and they wouldn't tell me to shut up!

Welcome to the site and I'm sure you'll find lots of good advise here!

Wow! I'm glad you were able to mourn Chrissy and talk about her on here- it really is nice that there are enough "cat crazies" that you can get your cat talk out! I've been there for sure. It was so hard when my childhood cat died 3 years ago, and then his bonded friend was so sad she left us two weeks later. It is definitely a difficult experience.

I became the unexpected owner of four additional cats last year, bringing my total to seven.  I was looking for support/help in dealing with a multi-cat household and taking care of kitties with IBD.  I found this site on a Google search I think.  And like others, not only did I get tons of good advice, suggestions and support, I found a place where I can talk all day long about cats, post all the cat photos I want, and nobody tells me to stop.

Oscar is SOOO cute!

I've grown up with animals all my life but this is the first time I've had my own pet and I really don't want to mess it up. Maybe I sound a little over the top but I worry that I'm going to screw things up with Lily.

I found this site through Yahoo search and I've been reading the articles since the first week I got her. They have been very very helpful in guiding me so far plus I love how everyone talks about their cats so easily, For me my cat is my buddy, she doesn't pay rent or clean up after herself but the little rewards of her rubbing against me and laying on me when I'm on the couch are payment enough.

That's a big family!! Do they all get along?
No!  Five out of seven do well together but a couple of the new guys just weren't getting along.  Those two are good buddies, though, thankfully, so they spend their time together in the cat room and catio.  It's a bit complicated
but they all have plenty of space, get plenty of attention from their humans (me and hubby) and none of them are alone so...it all works out.

I was doing the vet hopping thing with a chronically ill cat.  I know this site isn't a substitute for vet care but I was getting desperate.  I had gone to different vets, he had been hospitalized twice and I didn't know how much longer I could continue financially without a resolution to the issue.  After six years I tried one more vet, it was IBD with atypical symptoms which started when he was much younger than it usually starts.

Hi SeaTurtlesSwim, Oscar is a cutie pie. I joined because I was searching for help for a kitty with stomatitis. I've learned so much about nutrition and I'm so thankful for the opportunity to chat with fellow feline lovers.

I lurked here for quite a while before I joined. And then I don't think I posted for a while after I joined. There wasn't any particular reason, I guess, other than I had been lurking and you all seemed like nice folks.

I don't really remember what my first post was.

Oscar is gorgeous!

I joined recently because my new kitty is driving my family and my other cats up a wall!  I've had cats all my life and my newbie, Tatum, has me stumped!
