My husband and I live in Washington State on a ranch. We’re both retired, but I used to be a quilter (or quiltress), and I still enjoy making quilts as a hobby.
We have two extraordinary and beautiful cats: Gracie, whom I rescued at 10 weeks in 2001 (she’s thirteen, but still very young at heart), and Smitty, whom I adopted at 5 months in 2012 (he’s two and a half now), both rescued from my local SPCA shelter (Gracie was actually a foster failure).
About a month ago, Gracie started vomiting and having bouts of diarrhea. After doing numerous tests and finally a biopsy, she was diagnosed with IBD. I’ve gradually been trying to transition her to a raw diet mixed in with a little canned, but it’s an on-off thing (some days she’ll eat the entire bowl, other days she’ll completely refuse and I’ll have to feed her only canned). If it were not for this amazing site and my vet, we would be back at square one – so thank you!
(I’ll start a new thread detailing this in the Cat Nutrition forum.)
