You know, our gray is still a baby.  We don't know exactly how old our gray is at this time since he and his sister were dropped off at a clothes donation box, so how big he'll get is just a guess.  Our tabby is a BIG guy.  I'm guessing the gray will stay smaller :)

I'm willing to bet you that your gray will grow a little bit but not be as big as your tabby. Thats why I was asking if most (adult) gray cats are smaller(ish) or are (adult) Tabby cats just bigger(ish).

I don't think I would describe Mouse as small.
Even if he wasn't chubby he would be a fair size cat and weigh a good 12 lb.  When he stretches to stand on back paws up to a scratching post, kitchen work top or person his front paws can reach up to around 1 metre / 40".    My tabby females had a grey and white dad (I think) and an all gray litter brother and both these males were huge cats; they were more of a cobby build with shorter legs and more heavily muscled body than Mouse but they were also just plain huge.

My gray cat weighs 12 lbs, which is larger than average. I think that it just depends on the cat.
Mouse weighs more like 15 lb at the moment but he is way chubbier than he should be and I've got him on strict rations and kitty-gym (poor guy).

@GrooveRite  , your tabby is certainly bigger than your grey cat.
That's cute that they are starting to test out being closer together like that.  You never know, one day they might actually decide to be cuddle-buddies.

You could also say he weighs just over 1 stone. That makes him sound quite svelte!!

I'm not sure he really weighs that much. I think a new picture is in order.

I do not have little hands or skinny arms...
... and this is not a small sofa cushion he's loafing on.
and chubby checking out this year's Santa delivery, after a year of one of my housemates feeding him extra biscuits....
Then of course there's being super cute on Christmas day
and making a start on the kitty-gym routine.

Sorry, but someone did ask for more photos didn't they?

Anyone else got any cute Christmas pic's?   I'm sure that Mouse wasn't the only spoiled kitty around ( oh and perhaps @Columbine  's Shadow going by the recent photos of him with his stash)!

Is the shine on his coat the Russian Blue breed? His shine reminds me of my horse after he was showered and curried.

Awww, thank you all, Mouse really is lovely. Just to make you all super in love with him now, I am currently sitting on my sofa and Mouse is up on the back of the sofa kneading away at a fleece I have folded up for him there:  Thing is, he's moving about and back paws are kneading and pawsaging my shoulders rather than the fleece, purring like a motor the whole time.
He was doing this last night when I had a fleece jacket on so I thought he didn't realize what he was doing, but tonight I've got my regular knitted cardigan on.     I am hoping big time that he's going to make a habit of this.   He isn't a lap cat (probably because I fidget and move about too much) so when he does things like this it's extra special.

@KittyMomma1122   Yes, the sheen is from the transparent tips on his Russian Blue fur.   When he's in dim light his fur looks matt dark grey, like gun metal, but when light shines on it it catches the pigment free tips and it glistens.  It's hard to get photographs showing what he looks like in low light but I love it when he's like a shadow cat:  his eyes are wide open and like dark coals and his fur disappears in to the shadows.

Just thinking about how non horsey people might construe this sentence....
Well, I was thinking it was good that @KittyMomma1122  at least showered her horse before she 'curried' him but did then figure the poor guy probably wasn't actually cooked!  Maybe just marinated for a while.
Mostly I liked how Mouse was being associated with a horse because his rounded belly kind of resembles a horse belly (or to be more accurate a Shetland pony or similar) rather than the cat shape it should be.

Poor Mouse, I am so mean about him yet he is nothing but sweet with me (when not bouncing on my head, jumping on my back to get up to high placess, or dive bombing on to my bladder when I'm laying in bed)...     Life with a blue cat.

:jaw: :nono: I'm shocked at how cruel you're being about your gorgeous boy. Speaking as someone who has the spitting image of a Thelwell pony, I can confidently say there is NO shape resemblance WHATSOEVER! ;)

@Columbine, I guess never thought of that, I try not to speak to non-kitty or non-horsey people. Brushed very nicely to get off any loose hair looking all sleek and shiney. When I was young I spent more time in the barn or the pasture with my horse and cattle than I did with people.:D
