Mine are the same.
Have you noticed that white cats will always paw at the top layers of linen until they find something dark to lie on and black cats always have to lie on something white? They go for maximum impact when they're shedding all over your clean laundry.
Mine lie where ever they feel like and shed all over the place. It does not seem to matter who or where and with 2 blacks, one silver/grey and one multi-color (seal point) there is cat hair everywhere. A friend has a sign outside that says: no outfit is complete without cat hair. That pretty much sums it up. I do not own corduroy or velveteen or any of those other cat hair attracting clothes as I would never get out of the house without being covered with cat hair. No matter how many lint catching gadget you have, none of them will make you cat hair free so just go with the flow and don't wear those kinds of fabrics. As for sheets for the bed - if you have a cat that sleeps with you the sheets will be full of cat hair before morning, just ream out your belly button before taking a shower. Towels? Forget about it, just shake them real hard before you put them on the rod in the bathroom. Blankets? Ditto, the cat hair will make them extra snuggly heh heh. I sleep under a down comforter with a sheet underneath. My  black sleek-haired Panthera sleeps under the sheet with me with me, I just vacuum the bed before I make it up for the day so at least for a little while until he joins me I have a bed , oh joy! without cat hair. Sometimes he doesn't make an appearance until towards morning, double joy!

My cat sleeps on our bed or my kids' beds a lot. I haven't really noticed that much gray fur around. So either he doesn't shed much or I'm getting oblivious to cat hair because I'm too exhausted with all my human and cat babies. LOL!

Do y'all have long haired cats or short haired?

Long haired Persian, medium haired Birman, very sleek short haired black and another black who has medium hair but big pantaloons and a bushy tail. ALL of them leave their hair all over the place, the Persian the least because she gets combed and brushed the most or she would be one big mat.

Do you live in a warm climate?
yes, you can look at the right hand upper corner of someone's post and most of them tell you where they are. This is nice because it lets us know that there are people who read our post from all over the world: there is one in Australia, another in Israel, one in Japan, one in Greece that I have noticed. I'm sure there are plenty of others all over the world. Some don't tell you but that they are "in the kitchen" or "at my computer", that's ok.    I am in Southern California between Los Angeles and San Diego and it's NOT warm at all right now. 38F is forecast for tonight and only 55F for tomorrow. We don't have clothes for that kind of weather but El Nino is supposed to bring us lots of rain this winter and so we will put up with the cold and hope that the 6-year drought will be somewhat relieved although one wet winter won't do it.. Where are you?

I'm in Michigan. The climate differences may account for some of the shedding differences. I noticed a lot more shedding from my black cat during the summertime.

Though we're actually having mild weather at the moment. We'll see if it lasts.

Last winter, I believe that the weather went down to about -20 with windchill. The prior winter was much more severe. It got as low as -40 with windchill and propane prices skyrocketed.

I actually wouldn't mind temperatures dipping to -20. In that type of weather, my cat quits trying to escape whenever the door opens.

I remember last winter. He would go up to the door and as soon as the blast of cold air hit him, he would back away from the door. LOL!

Cats do love closets and those blankets look so soft and tempting...

That is one cute little poser you have there in Loki.  Oh yes, the expression in those eyes in 'chaos' alright.
He reminds me of a young Mouse but with a milk chin and paws.
Big paws at that - I think Loki is going to be quite a large cat.

Lol, MServant! Mouse probably figures that you need help with grooming, since he never sees you licking yourself.
True.  He thinks I'm really stupid for standing under the shower water too, I mean why bother to get all wet then dry yourself off?  And he has to get his smell all over me again once I've finished this silly human passtime.
First thing that happens is a good walk around my legs, then a groom of my face and hands....
