Despite the cold temps and snow, one of the local ice cream shops opened for the season this week. They make some of the best ice cream I have ever had.

So let's talk ice cream. :yummy: Do you like it? Do you prefer soft serve or the traditional hard ice cream? Favorite flavors? Dish or cone? Waffle or sugar? Toppings?

I prefer the traditional hard ice cream, with either a vanilla or a peanut butter base. I love peanut butter ice cream, but I also really like cookies and cream, etc. The last few times I went to this particular place, I got "Cranberry Bog" ice cream, which was a vanilla base with chocolate chips, nuts and cranberries. Definitely not my norm, but it was good. I really don't get fruit flavors usually.

I normally get a dish, but I do like a homemade waffle cone.

Yum!  I love ice cream.  I like the soft kind, in a dish, not a cone.  Last weekend we took five year old grandson miniature golfing and found a place nearby that was serving organic ice cream made there on site.  I got coffee flavored, and it was sooooooo good!  I tend to like vanilla based ones, too, with chocolate chips or nuts added.  I also love mint flavored ice cream.

It's only 8 a.m. here but this topic is making me hungry for ice cream!

I love ice cream.  There is a dairy just outside Dayton that has ice cream, they have Jersey cows and it is the best ice cream.  I like chocolate chip if it's shaved chocolate, chocolate almond, or vanilla with sauce.  I like both the soft serve and hard ice cream, more flavors with the hard ice cream.  I have some vanilla in my freezer now along with chocolate salted caramel sauce.

I have an IC parlor next door that I visit from time to time.
I like both soft-serve and hard, but I normally get the hard scoops in a waffle cone dipped in chocolate. But homemade waffle cones are always better IMO. I normally stick to chocolate, vanilla, or rocky road, but I'll try something fruity once in a while.

BTW, @AbbysMom  I love your new avatar!

My two vices are ice cream and watermelon. If they ever combine the flavors, I am in trouble. I love Moose Tracks ice cream.

Our local Freeze is open, too; they opened last weekend. Rick's favorite ice cream is peanut butter, soft serve in a cone and they make a good peanut butter. He tries to stop in whenever peanut is the third flavor there. From that place, I'm happy with a small plain vanilla soft serve in a cone.

At the store, though? Rocky Road! The good stuff, too, not the half-the-fat stuff. And I usually slather on extra marshmallow creme, a large spoonful or so of peanuts, and drizzle chocolate syrup over top the whole thing. A little ice cream....lots of garnish. If I'm gonna eat it, I'm gonna eat it right.

I'm not a huge ice cream fan.  I like it now and then; but I don't often seek it out.

I like going to The Marble Slab when I see one for their cheesecake ice cream with raspberries mixed in; in a waffle bowl!  Very good!

I guess I like a variety of flavors from fruity to chocolatey; it just depends on my mood.  The only place I look for soft serve ice cream is in a Blizzard from Dairy Queen! lol  I worked for them for a few weeks in high school and the smell of it still turns my stomach.  That greasy sweet smell inside the stores.

I'm not a great lover of ice cream - I "like" it, but could live without it. My favorite flavor though would be strawberry.
