I live in Spring Hill, FL and there is a wonderful group here called Paw Warriors that does TNR (trap neuter release). The group is run in part by a women named Tracie, and lately Tracie has had a LOT on her plate. When one of the cats I rescued ended up being dumped at animal control, Tracie helped me get her back and did not even ask for me to pay her back for the gas money or anything, but I knew she was upset when I picked up the kitty from her and I had to find out why. It is really sad when someone who does so much good for the community and for kitties, suffers so much pain and tragedy . Her house of rescue is being foreclosed on and her, her niece and over 50 rescue cats all have to be out soon. As if that were not enough, she loaned her car to a friend the night after I picked up this recent rescue kitty, her friend got into a horrible accident and was taken to the ICU. Her friend will be ok but is still in the hospital, the car that Tracie has relied on for years to transport cats to be fixed in Tampa (an hour drive) is destroyed. So now she has a friend who Is still in the hospital, her car is destroyed, and she and her kitties have to be out of their home within a few short months.

So if anyone is interested in helping, or would like to maybe foster a kitty or 10, here is their facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/PAWwarriors and their petfinder page: http://www.petfinder.com/shelters/FL1089.html

Tracie and her group never ask for anything and I have had them spay/neuter several ferals and pet kitties for me. Thanks to them I have had 4 ferals fixed and released in my neighborhood, and had 3 or 4 pet kitties fixed/vetted and then given to new homes. I donated money with each kittiy that they did for me, but they never did ask for it.

Thanks for looking,

Missina

I went through their Facebook page and read about it. How horrible. Is there a way for her to organize a local fundraiser? Maybe reach out to other Florida-based rescues and shelters? Maybe you could contact a local newspaper and have them run a story about it?
