Luna was either born or dumped here very, very young. I TNR'd her shortly after. She was completely feral. She wouldn't even come near food until I had gone inside. But about 8 months ago, shortly after I released her after her TNR, I started noticing hope in her. She would come closer and closer to me. She would even come to me when I called her.

About 2 months ago, the most amazing thing happened... She came over and sat by me, well a couple of feet away. But she sat by me and "talked" back as I talked to her. Slowly and over time, she finally would sit right beside me, but I couldn't touch her, or she'd take off and we'd have regression.

Well, about 3 weeks ago, she let me pet her for the first time!! I cried!! I was so happy!!!

About a week ago, she let me hold her and CAME INSIDE when I held the door open!!! She is a happy indoor kitty now!! She loves cat trees, warm beds, and the smells from the kitchen and TOYS... She never knew any of this stuff before!! She loves to be held and she hates the door. She doesn't like to even look outside! I had her health checked and she is very healthy and she is going to be going to live with my boyfriend as they have fallen in love. She is his other woman and I don't mind one bit!! Let hear it for Luna, the special girl who worked hard to overcome being feral!!

Luna on her first night, looking a little "deer in headlights"

Luna a day or so later, happy and comfy...

Luna learning about toys and giving love is as good as getting it!!

Luna wants to thank you for taking the time to read her story and know that all ferals and strays appreciate all you do and love you for it... They are just too scared to tell you themselves!

What a wonderful and heartwarming story. Thank you for socializing and caring for this precious girl so well. The fourth pic absolutely melted my heart - it just shows how she's blossomed from a shy feral cat to a human-loving bundle of purr.
I'm sure she'll enjoy living with your BF. Glad to hear that she's healthy as well.

Slow and steady socialization always wins the race when it comes to feral kitties. I'm so, so happy for you and your BF. It looks like she's settling in really nicely.

Thank you both!  I still cry tears of joy whenever she lets me love her because she has come so far and all on her own.  It was her choice the whole way.  I wanted to bring her in before the really bad winter but I didn't push her and I didn't want to retrap her again.   I wanted it to be what she wanted.  And I honestly think she just had enough of the snow, ice and cold.  She had been "talking" with my cats and knew they weren't a threat and I am sure they told her how awesome a home is?!  I'll never know but that is what I believe!

Anyway, she still has mild freak outs at something new.  She freaked out about the TV and the Keurig brewer and the dishwasher the first times she heard and saw them... I haven't tried the vacuum yet!  But, for the most part, she has done very well for having never been in a home before.  (I believe she was born a feral and not dumped.)  I am very proud of her. Here she is this morning discovering the laundry pile!

What a happy story about Luna!!  She will have a wonderful wonderful indoor kitty life!!!  I remember crying too the first time I pet my feral.  It was such a joyous day.

Thank you everyone!  Luna continues to do very well.  She has now gotten used to all of the household sounds and the vacuum, too (not of her favorite, of course).  This week, she discovered my bed and she likes to sleep at the foot of it.  She'll stay there all night, too.  She doesn't seem to mind my snoring.  My boyfriend and I went and bought some cat furniture and toys for her when he gets back from his work trip next week, he'll be set to take her to her forever home!  I'll be sad to see her go but I'll still get to see her all the time!  She'll be a good cat for a guy, though.  She likes to box and wrestle.  She is affectionate but she likes to play rough.  She gives my Tyrion something to think about.  He thinks she's too rough!  Go figure!  You'd think he'd be thrilled to have another kitty in the house that likes to play rough like him! LOL!!

She purrs constantly now.  She is a happy girl for sure!

Confident and happy house cat!

Fantastic! She is one lucky kitty to have found such loving people. You are a true cat hero for giving her a chance to live a safe and pampered indoor life. Hooray for you Luna and your " two timing " boyfriend.
