I buy my kitties food at a store that is part of a very small chain because they sell a lot of foods that the big box stores don't sell.  I was looking for 100 percent liver treats that aren't chicken or beef.  The only thing that they had was dog treats that were Wild Texas Boar liver, I didn't get them because I thought they were ridiculously overpriced.  They were air dried rather than freeze-dried.  I wonder if there would be more nutrient loss, I assume they use a dehydrator.  I am thinking about using them in place of the liver in homemade food because my IBD kitty can't tolerate beef and has developed a chicken allergy so I need to make sure the nutrients are still there.

Hmmm, I don't know about that, but I DO know that you can get freeze dried lamb or duck liver from Etta Says, or Bravo makes freeze dried Venison liver.  Whole Life has freeze dried Lambs Liver too.  You could probably ask that store to special order them for you, or just google them and find lots of on-line stores that carry them (Amazon, for one)
