Recently we brought home a kitten, the person we took her from said that she was vaccinated and wormed but had no papers to show this so we took her to the vet straight away before putting her in contact with our adult cat. I noticed straight away that her balance was very bad.
When we got to the vet we had her vaccinated and wormed, then the vet took swabs from her ears and left the room. When he came back he told us that she had earmites and a yeast infection, he treated her for both.
I continued to give her the ear drops for the yeast infection for a week and her balance got better because the fluid in her ears had completely cleared. But she still cant hear properly, she hears very very loud sounds but doesnt seem to hear much else, the vet didnt really say if she would get her full hearing back?
Id just like to know if anybody has experienced anything like this. If theres anything more i can do to help her..
I have emailed the previous owner to let her know that her other cats need to be seen by a vet but have not recieved a reply.
Misha the kitten and Mia the cat got along straight away and are now best friends.
