Cat vomits after eating?

I have one of my cats who vomits after eating. It doesnt happen alot. But usually a couple times a wekk. back to back. He threw up last night.  I had given him some canned mixed with dry. He did seem to eat it pretty fast. Ended up throwing it up. He had dry this am. As far as i know he didnt throw any up. He was hungry before lunch so i gave hime a little dry. Then at lunch he had Merrick chicken pate.  i think he threw that up. I was in the same rooma dn didnt hear it. But looked and the younger cat was licking something up. 

He didnt really eat fast today.  I just hate when they throw up. If he was so hungry from breakfast, then throws up lunch. Now he has nothing left in his stomach. I spread the pate on the plate to help slow him down.  I havent been able to figure out what causes it. It can go days without throwing up then there are usually a couple episodes.  He could eat the ame food one day and be fine. The next time throw it up. 

This happens with both dry and canned.  

has anyone had this same issue with their cat(s)? What was it? Woudl probiotics help?

My vet office calls it scarf and barf. My cat Murray gets RAD raw food. I've tried giving him less at a time or picking up the plate to slow him down. He's lately been better at pacing himself.
Sometimes I think he barfs on purpose for attention. If I don't feed him when he is demanding to be fed, the next thing I see is a little barf on the floor. If his stomach is empty, he'll just barf up liquid.

Ya see i know he seemed hungry before lunch. I am trying to feed them 3 times a day. Be he cries and seems hungry before. Dont want him so hungry he barfs. because eating to fast or because of an empty stomach. But i think he barfs if he eats to much too.

My Muffin does that. She eats so fast then throws it up, and continues like that for each meal because she's so hungry. It's usually started with a hairball irritating her stomach. If she's on a barfing cycle I try to feed her 1/3 -1/2 serving, then if she keeps that down the other part an hour or so later. Usually once she gets a full meal on her stomach she stops throwing up.

Probiotics might help.  It IS odd that sometimes he throws up the very same food, and sometimes he doesn't, unless it is because he's eating too fast.  If they eat too fast, they will normally throw it back up pretty quickly, so it won't have a chance to digest.   Each type of food digests at a different rate though, so if you are mixing canned and kibble, perhaps that's the issue for this one cat .  I think kibble takes the longest to digest (can't remember, but that's what seems to be in the back of my brain)   Maybe try not mixing them?

I dont do it very often. Only a few times. He threw it up once, but they all ate it pretty fast.
