love winter and snow, but I miss opening the windows and slider - my girls love sitting by the screen and taking in all the sights and smells. Today, it's 50 something degrees here in MA, which is unusually warm for the middle of March, so I opened the slider. In about 5 minutes, they were already settled. Love this!

What are your favorite kitty moments?

Lovely pictures. It has been nice enough for the last two days that I have opened the sliding glass door and let the house air out. I have a screened back porch and a catflap out onto it, so the ladies can get out anytime during the day - unless it is really cold.

I like moments like this.

Yes, that is an armadillo. In the middle of the day. It was out there for at least half an hour.

Great pictures! You are so lucky to have a screened in porch!  I have a decent sized porch, & have thought about screening it in for Angel. I know he would love it. He's been indoors for almost 3 yrs now. (Aug.)  BUT, I would have to see how much it would take, & how much it would all cost. I don't have a lot of extra money, now that I have a car payment. ...also the fact that I don't know who would build it for me. This is where being single sucks!
And would love to paint it, sense my landlord doesn't do anything!

Does it already have a roof over it? That is the biggest pain to do. Could you take some more pictures from the middle towards each wall? It looks like the part I can see is quite well made.

Yes, it does. It's a good little porch. (except for a couple of cracks in the cement
)   I don't think I would even ask my land lord, I would just do it. Anything I do is an improvement, & neighbors have said he has bragged on my place before, because I keep it nice, do improvements, painting, etc..  (well, "some one" has to do it! ) Yes, I will take some better picts & post them for you!

It looks like putting screen on the outside of all the studs would do the job. You would have to put a screen door in that opening by the steps. I don't know what prices are like around your area, but a couple of hundred or maybe three should take care of all of it.

WOW! That's a lot. Especially sense it's a rental, even though I've been here for 15 yrs!  (I'd have to save up for that!)

I have looked at our Habitat stores (we have two) for screen doors, & haven't seen any. Probably be just as cheap to just make one, frame & screen.

I've seen the pet screen at Walmart, but don't remember how much it was. I would also have to measure the porch again & try to figure it from there, based on how much I would need.

I have too much stuff I still want to do indoors first. Both rooms (my room & office) as well as the bathroom are all due for another painting, sense they were all done the first year to two years when I moved in.

I also have this horrible blue indoor/outdoor carpet (That's why I have large area rugs down)  that I want to take up. I'm not sure of the condition of the wood underneath, but it's painted white, & mostly worn off.

I pulled it up in the small square hallway & have & scraped it, but it took me a solid week just to do that myself, & man did my fingers ache after that, from scrubbing it clean as well. That would be too much work in the rooms, so I would like to just paint them white, & put down a large rug. I think the white will give it a cottage look. I'd like to do the same in the living room, but not sure about the floor color there.

Here's a favorite kitty moment--it's been warm here and the kitties love to sleep in the sun.  This isn't the best photo, since it's mostly their butts
