My three month old Kitten has this unique quiet snort. But only when he's awake. I'm worried he may have breathing problems... Is this normal for some cats?

if u meet certain income guidelines (are u living in a box by choice?) u are eligible for free vet care through major organizations

my advice-get him some insurance asap and then take him in

Hi
It could be a variation on normal, or it could be an obstruction like polyps. If he's never been to a vet then it's time to get that first exam anyway, and he is probably overdue for his first vaccinations so you can get his breathing checked at the same time. I don't know any insurance companies that will insure withou a vet report first.

No it's not normal. Your cat has an upper respiratory issue and needs to see a vet before your kitten gets worse. He can seem fine at most times but he is really struggling to get air if he is snorting. The vet can listen to his chest to see how much air is getting into his lungs. If the issue isn't resolved while he is a kitten, expect bigger vet bills when and if he gets bigger. My Virgil who I adopted at 18 months old came to me with a UPI and now has to always be in a cool humid environment otherwise he starts coughing and sneezing. So get to a vet and follow the vets instructions. Virgil also sits in the bathroom with me every morning when I shower to really help start his day better.
