how to tell if pregnant/questions

Hello I have a couple questions..

1. I have one cat who im guessing is pretty close to 40 days pregnant based of last heat cycle and when I noticed her with intact males. Besides mood change and some hair loss around nipple.. I'm confused on if she is pregnant or not. I felt her stomach about a week ago and felt what felt like little around things bout walnut size of bigger.. But since then her stomach has gotten harder and I've gotten more nervous bout being wrong.. So basically with all this I want to know shouldn't this female cat being showing by now? If u hold her by say her shoulders she looks it but she could jus be gaining wait.. So I'm not sure..

2. Another female cat I know has started having mood swings basically.. She also was around intact males while in heat. Is going from being nice and letting u touch her belly to bitting and be vicious if u touch her belly a sign of being pregnant for a cat? (Within a like 15 min time period) For this female I can't go off nipples as she has had a litter of kittens before..

Anyway as a note these aren't my cats their my friends but in the past If a cat of theirs got pregnant I would come over more often to help so the kittens got the best they could get..

Unspayed cats who have been around intact males will always be pregnant this time of year unless they're infertile. If they have been pregnant before they aren't infertile so I'd say it's about a 100% chance they are pregnant.

It would be nice for these poor cats if you could help their owners find a way to get them spayed. There may be a low-cost program in the area if price is a problem.

Seconding Willowy, please try and talk these your friends into the right decision.

If they want to play with small kittens, they can surely cooperate with some shelter nearby, and foster their high pregs.

They will not even be forced to themselves seek after homes for the kittens.

Preg have their mood twitches, this explains surely your nr 2.

Will a vet spay a cat who is over half way through a pregnancy? The females went in season around the males around the 14 of January. Second female got around males again 2 days later as well. (EDITr not.. Jus checked my calendar.. Not so sure about the date anymore)

Can these two females have their kittens in the same area?

Lastly, Will I be able to feel the kittens easier in a week or two from now?

I hope I don't sound weird wanting to help take care of these cats.. I have known my friend for a couple years now and had to help with other litters at their place before so I'm attached to their cats to a point. I want what's best as it will make my friend and there cats happier.

Late term spays are possible with a skilled and right-minded vet, but at 55 days along (if your dates are correct) I am not sure most vets would do it.  Is there any way to get the cats to a vet to have them checked out and determine conclusively  how far along they are?  The right vet may still feel okay about going through with a spay even now, but this is something you'd have to discuss with them. In any case, if you do want to explore that as an option,y ou need to get in touch with a vet truly as soon as possible. A vet will also best be able to help you be more 'sure' about the date they got pregnant and how far along they are. You said 40 days in your original post and that would be a much different situation.  Most skilled vets will still spay 40 days into a pregnancy. I have often seen this done. 

The females can probably have the kittens in the same area yes IF THEY GET ALONG.  However, they should be watched closely in the first few days.  Often, if females are related or part of the same 'pack' they will cooperate to help one another raise the kittens.

As for feeling the kittens, yes probably.  They will get bigger and easier to feel.

Ya I don't think I will push for my friends females to be spayed till afterwards. I personally can't afford to bring my friends cats to the vet as I have bills and any extra money I do have needs to be put into savings for the cat I have at my friends.. I'm confident when I say also that my friend won't bring her cats to the vet unless they see that they need to so kinda sucks..

Also sorry for getting the days pregnant mixed up they aren't showing that much so I kinda jus assumed 40 days when I posted instead of thinking the proper days out. I can say with certain it was in January and that it didn't happen the last week of the month as I remember pretty well of what was going on around that time.

The females are related and as of recently have been getting along so I will think positive when the time comes :3 if not I will seperat them.

If anyone wants them I can post some pictures? I will also try to keep this updated ^^'
