We noticed this small bald spot on our cat's rear leg with a red dot in it, about the size of a pea.  This picture was taken several days ago, and we thought it looked like it was healing.  It is still there today and looks more open now - not sure if maybe she was licking it or something.  We also noticed a similar looking spot on the inside of one of her front legs, but not as big as this one.

We gave her a dose of flea/parasite treatment (Revolution) as a precaution.  She has not seemed overly itchy lately though.  Has anyone seen this before?

She is two years old, we adopted her a little over 6 months ago and has otherwise been in good health.

I hate to sound like a broken record but it is best to have anything unusual like this checked by a veterinarian. Is she an indoor cat or do you let her go outdoors?

Thanks for the response.  She is indoors only.  We let her play in the basement, it's pretty safe down there but I wonder if she didn't find an errant nail or something that she may have snagged on.

Her being indoors only, without any contact with other cats rules out ringworm basically, which would be your biggest concern here. Not dangerous but a royal pain in the you-know-what...

But it would have to have been some contact with a live spore from another cat's hair strand, where the spores live.

I would simply keep an eye on it and if it gets worse/bigger, or more pop up you will surely need her checked by a vet.

One way to tell if a spot like this is ringworm is if you rub right around the bald spot and fur comes off, comes out or usually breaks off easily, then it would likely be a strain of ringworm, but this spot doesn't appear to be like this, at least from what I can tell in the pic.

It can't hurt to try this, not with your fingers but with a white or light colored washcloth, wet it with warm water and put over your finger, then rub it.

(just in case, as it is contagious to people)
