New kitten owner - Hello!

Hello all!  My husband and I adopted a 3 month old kitten about 2 weeks ago.  We both had cats growing up, but it is a first for both of us to have a kitten.  She keeps us on our toes, as she is in to everything!  The first week was hard.  I wasn't sure I would be able to handle her.  But now I am learning how to control her (as much as you can control a kitten, haha) and how to have a lot of patience!

I had an "incident" with a cat about 10 years ago.  Ever since then, I have been afraid of cats, so it is truly amazing how much I have fallen in love with our new kitty!  She is napping on my lap as I type this.  Thank you all for the wonderful advice and information I have read so far on the forum.  I look forward to learning as much as I can about my new companion!

Kittens are a lot of work, but with the proper socialization and "bringing-up", they can grow into wonderful feline companions. Sounds like she's warmed up to you already and is on her way to snuggling into your heart. I'm glad that you overcame your fear of felines and that your new kitten helped you with that.

Hi, welcome to TCS!  Your kitten is a precious girl.  My Daisy (pictured in my avatar) is into everything, so I understand.  I told DH the other day that Daisy has made our lives so much more interesting.  She is always up to something.  We love all our cats equally, but Daisy is the most fun of the crew.
