Hi Everyone,

My avi is of my cats Gixxie and Blackie.  Its a long story behind them so Ill make it brief.

I got them both from the shelter and both we feral.  Both were very sick.  Almost lost Blackie once and Gixxie... I lost track of how many times.  Nursed them both to health $1,200 later between medications and vet visits and emergency visits to the after hours vet hospital.  Then I had some problems at home and had to give them to a friend.  Then the friend after 4 months gave them to someone who likes cats (he didn't like them) and that's where they are now.  They have been with this person for about 7 months now and as much as I love them and want them back... I cant take them from this person.  She has given them a home and she has made a life with them.  I know letting them go is the right thing to do but  that doesn't change the fact that I would like them back.  I love these two so much.

Ive been a cat person since I was a kid and made friends with the kittens at the stables I used to ride at.  We always had a cat in the house but they were all totally standoffish.  The cats Ive always had have been my best friends, friendly, come when called, liked attention... lots of it infact lol, and just the greatest.

Im really excited I found this site and happy to be here  :)

to TCS! I'm so sorry about Gixxie and Blackie - they are adorable.

Please don't feel guilty - you did what you felt was right for these kitties and gave them to a home that could financially support them and their needs - be comforted by the fact that they are in a loving and cat-friendly family. Is it possible for you to visit them from time to time to play with them or kitty-sit?

You stated that you've always had a cat in your home. Are you planning on getting another kitty in the near future?

Glad to hear that you're enjoying the site. Feel free to browse through the other forums as well.

Hi, welcome to TCS!  It's very difficult to have to re-home, and I am sorry you are going through this.  Bless you for helping these beautiful kittens; you most certainly saved their lives.  Will the current owner let you visit the kittens?  I once took in a stray with a broken leg.  DH and I came to the sad decision that we would have to find him a home after he had his health issues taken care of and was feeling better.  We had six cats at the time and simply could not keep him, even though I fell in love with him.  We found him a great home with children who babied him.  I got to see him once, and it gave me closure, knowing he was so happy.  Best wishes to you.  You have a lot of love to give and I hope when the time is right, you will chose to adopt again.

Hello Gixxie and welcome to TCS! You were an angel to help those kittens like you did. I know it's painful for you, not having them with you. Just remember that they are settled in a good, happy home. You did your part in saving their lives, truly. The rest is now up to someone else. Maybe one day you'll be in a position to save the lives of two more kitties.

Thank you all for your words.

Yes I plan on adopting again.  Id like it to be soon but it may have to wait because funds are tight and I don't have extra for potential vet visits and medications.

I cant imagine my life without kitties in the house.
