This young lady likes to play outside during the day. She just came to the door a bit ago and her eye is completely filled with blood. I don't see any scratches and no blood on the outside. My husbands says it's probably a burst vessel . She is eating and doesn't appear to be in distress. She also appears to still have some vision in that eye. Going to the vet right now is not an option. Please don't judge. Our account is in the negative and there is not a vet around here who will work with us. Any advice on what I should look for?

Im Mobil it won't let me upload an image. The eye is completely red and clouded you can barley make out the pupil.

Am not sure if an image will help you am afraid. I had a quick google about this and there seems that there can be quite a few reasons, some serious, some very serious and then there is an injury. All of which I would say really does need the vet to have a look. Is it possible to phone around to see if there are some cheaper vets/charities that can help your kitty, or perhaps some sort of payment plan? Borrow? It may not be as costly as you may think if something like an injury. The cost of the appointment and perhaps some meds? You'll never know until you go. Am not sure what you mean there is not a vet around who will work with you.

Sorry I can't diagnose or help, but am not a vet and I shouldn't even begin to guess.

Best of luck & warm thoughts to your kitty.

That's what I am worried about.. And what I mean is that there are no vets in my area who will do a payment plan I have run across this issue in the past with one on my dogs. And I called around everywhere. I live in a small town there are not many options. They cheapest for just a check up/visit is 45 dollars. I literally have 15 dollars in my wallet until next payday we just cleaned out our saving paying for car repairs :(

It's very tough at the moment out there huh? I don't have any answers for you am afraid.. no relatives you can borrow from? A card you can extend the overdraft for $150?  I hope you find a way, esp if your cat starts to show the signs of pain or other illness.

I mean this nicely, but in the future, would you be able to budge for a basic insurance? Can really help with these kinds of moments.. Good luck

Have you ever tried applying for care credit?  It is a credit card you can use for vet bills.  I would contact local rescues/shelters to see if they can help.  Blood in the eye is usually pretty serious and should be treated right away.  There really isn't anything you can do at home for it.  Your kitty really needs to get to a vet as soon as possible.
