This noob just wanted to say Hi! - or maybe Meow, blurt! would be better? ;-)

Midnight is an 18 month old male, already pushing 12#, and is almost completely black with some dark gray on his stomach and groin. His mother was a (solid) medium gray tabby with white boots and nose. No idea who the father was but I think it must have been part Maine Coon. Midnight's coat is long and fairly thick with the classic tufts on the ears, though not as long as some pictures I've seen. His fur kinda' grows in tufts, too, with a lone, gray hair in the center of each tuft that almost looks white against all that black. In the right light you see all this black with little dots of white all over - like the night sky. He's an indoor/outdoor cat.

Star is an 8 month male medium gray striped tabby with white neck, chest, stomach, and groin with a little on the nose. Our granddaughter found him as a stray and we gave him a home. Midnight was supposed to be my wife's cat but ended up mine, so we needed another cat for her, anyway. :-) Star is 7.5# and is a little skittish at times. So far he's an indoor cat but we'll introduce him to the outside come spring.

We've both had cats in the past and our daughter had a cat when she was younger and living at home, so we're not strangers to them but it's been awhile - more than ten years. I hope to learn some new things about our cats and hope to have some interesting conversations here.

to TCS! Midnight and Star are adorable together. I love Midnight's curly tail in the last pic and Star looks like he has fun irritating his brother and entertaining the household with his busy kitten antics.
I'm sure you'll learn and contribute a lot of helpful information here - it is the Cat Site, after all.
