We just took a cat from the barn where we keep our show calf because the chicken show team was scared she would get into the new chicks. I don't know how far she is but she is extremely round. She waddles instead of walking! We have had her 4 days and the past two all she does is sleep in strange place like under the bed and in the closet floor. How can we tell how close she is to having babies?

First of all, bless you for taking her in, it sounds like she needed some love and help. I'm sure she's a little confused and scared right now, so that's why she is sleeping in secluded spots, but I'd bet she's sleeping much more soundly now that she feels a little more secure! If she's 'waddling' she's got to be close, and if you can see the babies moving inside she's very close. Is there anyway to post a picture?
We'd all love that! Maybe some breeders could help you get a closer estimate. Good luck!

My pregnant kittie is doing that alot sleeping in places she originally would never sleep. I do agree with ^^^^ poster she is getting close. After you start seeing babies move supposedly she has maybe 2 weeks to go. Good luck.

Update: She has a little bloody discharge from vagina. I think I might have saw a small contraction. I put her in a room with food, water, litter box, and several nice spots to have her babies. It also has a linoleum floor for easy clean up and I left a light in for her but its dim. I am going to set an alam to go check on her later tonight.

Ok, I let her put of the room because she won't be quiet. And now she wants me to pet her constantly.
