I am beside myself, I have my Velcro kitty (is basically in my lap all day) locked in a crate to verify his actual output after an almost fatal blockage on 2/10/14. So 3 days in hospital and $1100.00 later he acts fine, he eats, never see him drink, but still peas very little. He is always making trips to the litter box. But with 4 cats it is hard to tell who is doing what. So I built a crate to go over the useless spa tub so he has plenty of room, a cat box and a bed. But tonight he is throwing up. And I feel so bad.if he is still sick I can't afford another $1100.00 to do all those catheter etc to him. I have been feeding him wet food since getting him home again. Ayone have any ideas about the throwing up? Isitpossibleit was too long between meals? We are switching from free feed to wet food and not sure when they got fed last. But there is blue buffalo dry out just in case. PS loved the vet, but didn't love that they don't do overnights..you have to pick up your pet, transport to another facility and then bring them back in the morning.
Do io take him someplace else? I can't stop thinking I'll have to put him down. Sniff. Sorry if any typos, hard to see keyboard right now.

:clap: so Spooky isn't blocked, but they are concerned about the frequent trips to the box and the vomiting. She said his bladder was empty so they kept him to give him fluids to make him go so they could test his urine. Tho he will come late today tho. Have no idea what is going on with him.

Hi and welcome to TCS. I am so sorry that you and Spooky are going through this. Did the vet ever run an urinalysis originally to see what caused the blockage in the first place? Treatment differs somewhat depending on the cause, so I am glad they are going to try to run another test. An all wet diet will help though with all cases since the moisture will help keep his system flushed out. Have you seen this site yet? http://www.catinfo.org/?link=urinarytracthealth Lots of good info here.

And yes, going too long between meals can definitely cause nausea and vomiting from the excess stomach acid build up. :( Many vibes for Spooky and lots of hugs for you. It's always so hard to have a sick pet.

Well Spooky was NOT blocked, and even had very little urine in his bladder even after fluids. That said, they couldn't get a urine sample since once they put him in the cage to wait for the fluid to do its thing he turned into psyco kittie. Hissing growling and lunging at people they couldn't get near him all day. I showed up near their closing time and no one could eve get him into his crate. When I went back to get him,his cage was covered with a towel,so he was basically in a box. I was not happy to see this, nor was i happy to see his reaction to even me. When I tried to reach for him I got the same hissing and lunging. Surprised me once, then I went in after him. Once I got his scruff we were good, I scolded him for treating momma that way, and within a few minutes I had him purring. I guess he is one of those cats who can't be left with anyone without his momma.he is acting fine, but still making tons of trips to the litter box. Guess it is up to him now to be ok or not, because I can't put him thru that again.

Did they mention that his frequent trips to the litter box might be due to your cats having a irritated bladder ? Sometimes a few days of prendisone soothes the bladder

No they didn't mention that. But I don't think he gave them a chance to look at him enough to get any ideas. They did send hi home with orbax but the first time I gave it to him he yakked it right up. Can't say I blame him. And buprenex, which after I looked it up I wasn't sure he needed that.
