Hello!  I was looking through this forum, and hoped someone could help me ID my cat Wilson.  He's definitely a mix, but he's pretty unique.

I found this guy outside while we were walking home about six months ago, all dirty and starving and, horribly enough, declawed.

He has long fur, but it doesn't really seem to mat at all - it's fine, and doesn't really seem to be a double coat at all.  He also has stubby little front legs, and has trouble jumping even two feet up onto the couch (this may also be arthritis in his back legs, though).  His face is pretty flat, and he actually had entropion in his right eye that we just had corrected.

I've had a lot of people tell me he looks like a Siberian or Forest Cat, and I would agree except that he weighs all of 8 lbs.  He weighed 7 when I found him, immediately put on 1, and has been 8 lbs for six months.

He's extremely vocal, but not super cuddly or affectionate.  He also will eat anything and everything he can get his paws on (potato chips, pasta... we have to make sure we don't drop anything from the table or he goes after it like a dog!), although that might be a result of being outside rather than some kind of true personality trait.

Sorry for the instagram photos, it's all I have right now!  And thanks for any thoughts on what kind of breeds he might have descended from.

He has a look of a Norwegian Forest Cat - look alik.    The pattern is a bicolor, ie two color... Blue and white, as it looks on most pics.

Although I had seen pics of purebred Maine Coons, who could also have somewhat a NFC likeliness.

How big is he? (ah, I saw, 4 kilogrammes)   NFC tends to be visibly larger than an average cat, almost in the MCO class.

Good luck!

you ask what he may descended from.   He has also a vague  Ragdoll look (some of them are bicolor).  So he may be an outcross of a ragdoll with someone other longhaired - perhaps a small  NFC - being an outcross he loses of course the point...

I say 'descended' because I'm assuming a cat someone declawed and then dumped probably isn't a fancy purebred, poor thing.

I was thinking Ragdoll too!  I had just never heard of one being bi-color, and I wasn't sure if his face is too flat.  I've always heard they really do go limp when you pick them up, and he actually does that.

It just cracks me up that he looks like he's *supposed* to be this big cat, and then he's such a little guy.  Barely bigger than the female purebred lynx-point Siamese I had growing up.
