Well, my cat destroyed his first raw chicken wing.

I ripped off most of the skin, perhaps I didn't need to.  I tore it in two pieces and gave him the smaller boned section.

I was busy at the stove and next thing I notice, the wing is gone.   Couldn't believe how fast he crunched it up, I looked everywhere thinking maybe he hid a piece, since it was a fairly sizeable hunk of meat/bone.

It's my understanding that a chicken wing is ~ 92 calories for a medium sized wing. Of course, he only had 1/2 and without most of skin.  All in all, a good experiment - this guy is easy to please.

I so want to try that with my young adults, but I just can't bring myself because I know the little lady would put my butt would be in the vice if something bad happenned to them.

Wonderful!

Mine had chicken wings, too, last night. One didn't even lick it, one tried his best and failed miserably (didn't manage to eat more than half of the meat on it) and the third champion ate the entire meat and maybe half a inch of bone

Well, the raw chicken wing trial continues - I gave him the other 1/2 of the wing (big wing) tonight.  The side with the larger bone.

He managed to clean the meat off the bone, then bit off the largish knuckle bone and tried to swallow it.

He puked it up (in addition to some raw rabbit meat I gave earlier).

So, looks like I'll stick to the thinner boned side which he had no problem crunching up.   Exciting stuff I know!

I think drumsticks would be way too big, any other body parts to try, or are wings the best bet?

The two smaller pieces of the wings, ribs and necks are the best bone-in meals from a chicken to feed. The other bones are generally too big for most cats although some will gnaw the meat off the bone. You could try a Cornish game hen. You can pretty much feed all of it in meal sized pieces.
